  1. Older Fender acoustics are hit and miss...which is why you can get that one for $90. I would absolutely go with the Yamaha. That model has a solid spruce top and nato sides, and frankly, for what they charge new [~$230] there is really no comparison. That guitar will serve you well for many years, and I will suggest that when you decide to 'upgrade', you keep it regardless of what you get next.
  2. Sorry about the setback, that sucks! IIRC, this is a bolt-in neck, not glued, so a reset is not such a major undertaking. Winter is a terrible time to do work/repairs involving glue joints....even if you live somewhere like here, where the humidity is fairly stable*. If you don't have good humidity and temperature control, then yes, I would wait...But it seems I recall you have a humidifier and a hygrometer for your workroom.... so you are the judge of suitability. *typical humidity here is about 60%, except when the Santa Anas blow, then it drops drastically, and static electricity is everywhere; plus, outdoors, the temperature can swing 25-30F over the course of a day [it was 38F this morning at 5:30 AM, it should hit ~65 this afternoon].
  3. Valuations are based largely on condition, so considering the noted damage from your post...I would guess not very much. Damage and repairs kill values, no matter how good the instrument sounds. In pristine condition, maybe US$500-600 w/HSC. [Yours is the cedar top, correct?] In the condition you have described? Maybe US$200-250. w/hsc...if you could find a buyer.
  4. 'gold back' 10" but 40w or cream back.
  5. sounds like it is working correctly....j/k warranty?
  6. please contact me regarding this breach!
  7. Because...tradition....go for it, guys.
  8. about CDN170-200 [US$130-150]...w/ case. Condition not a huge factor...but does matter.
  9. Unfortunately, r_clockberg has not been here in over 2 years. So we may never know how this turned out.
  10. Sonuus has their own support forum just for the i2M...have you tried asking over there? https://www.sonuus.com/forum/
  11. The FG 450 was manufactured for a very long period, from the early 1970s well into the 1990s serial number lookup: https://www.yamaha.com/yamahaguitars/AcousticGuitarSerialNumberSystems.pdf Value is based on condition, so no one can tell you what is worth without a thorough examination. You can see that the prices are pretty varied here Those examples range pretty wide from over $600 to under $300...and most of them claim to be 'good' condition.
  12. Did have one [I don't even remember who made it or what it was called...great graphics though] briefly that I won in an online contest several years ago, but meh, for my purposes it was never going to find a place on my sidegig pedalboard. I do find it somewhat amusing that the 'lo-fi' pedals I've seen are covered in control knobs....to me, that almost makes it its own instrument.... https://delicious-audio.com/best-lofi-guitar-pedals-analog-digital-tape-vinyl/
  13. They were known [to me, anyway*] for making guitar cases, from jazz guitars to Fender solidbodies. They were listed as 'Los Angeles', but I thought they were in Long Beach...they made cases under other names as well like G&G...the De Cuir logo was their top line. *I worked in the road case business in LA in the 90s
  14. They are both 'jazz bass' models so that shouldn't be the issue....but both are 'starter' basses...so you won't get the best p-ups, pots, tuners, bridge...but all that is easily upgraded. BTW...what happened to that Yamaha BB200 you bought last summer?
  15. I see where people are saying the HB JB75 runs about 12.5 lbs[~5.6kg]. That is kind of heavy...the SX runs about 11 lbs[~5kg]. But a Fender JB is about 8.5 lbs [~4kg], so that is a noticeable difference! Good luck...both basses appear to be reasonably well made and easily modified/upgraded.
  16. after thinking this over a bit [for 8 months now]....as a sideman, a hired gun, as it were, I do what I'm told, I play my parts, I get my money and I go home. I do not feel obligated to fix their issues unless specifically asked. It is a very different schtick than being a member of a band. As to the horn band keys issue...get a keyboard with a transposer in it, and drop every thing a half step into Emi and Ami [lots of white keys!!]
  17. He did have a sig model Washburn EA20 'Melissa' which was black, with a cutaway, but that guitar in the video looks like a customized 'Martin-style' to me. Eastman's 'fancy logo came to mind , but it isn't that [but again, could be custom] He could certainly afford to have guitars custom-made for him....
  18. Purdy...and, IMHO, 'not as bright as a stock Ric' is a good thing.
  19. Actually that is unfair to the rest of the band... because they could be spending their time looking for a replacement instead of trying to track you down....
  20. NewT, you are probably a year and a half too late....but yes, if they can't sing harmony, stop doing songs that show off your weaknesses, and do songs that play to your strengths.

Considering that Fender Blackface amps [arguably the most recorded amps of all time] were typically running at 4 ohms...I'll just suggest that this is hogwash. The impedance has nothing to do with tone, and everything to do with the load on the OT....who makes this $#!+ up?
  23. They are the dinosaurs of the gigging world. Once PAs could handle mic-ing amps, the days of the stacks and excessive wattage were numbered.
