I suspect the current pickups are very high gain ceramic. Everything sounds distorted on it.Chris Carter has a few more hand wound SinBucker pickups available for $30 each shipped. The case has some very light scratches, as well as the pickguard. Overall I am VERY pleased with my purchase. Typically I wouldn't have purchased it in blueburst, but it looks great in person, and the birds-eye neck is a beauty.I'm not used to the sound (poplar), and it has many sonic options so I'll stop posting and start playing Many thanks for posting the deal, 1esotericguy. I had one of those once upon a time and canceled it to improve my credit. Now my credit is awesome. I hate to jeopardize that. It's only $520! I just have to tighten my belt a little for a month or two, no big deal, right? I'm going to hate myself for making the call, but how can I not?I'm always curious about clearance items like this. Are they just getting rid of the inventory to make way for a new model? Is something bigger and better around the corner? Will it turn into a pumpkin at midnight?
