  1. you can do it if the slugs are flush, but it will not look 'right' absent the screw heads.

    Is This Correct??

first..two heads are not better than one. Second, Mr.G is right, this is not a good idea; sharing a cab with the potential to 'mix' the output of two power amps. Third...Why would you even want to do this? If you want stereo, you need separation to get the effect....
  3. it deadens it, mainly reflected overtones inside the cab. There are better things to use, but it works better than nothing.
  4. No, sadly, I do not have an Aria in the stable...almost did a few years ago, could not get the price I wanted to pay. Don't hate me! My 'stable' comment was regarding the color....[2016 collection, a few additions since then, and the brown SG was given away] I have done work on a few Aria Pro IIs over the years, always due to 'owner abuse', not a design flaw, so I appreciate the workmanship that goes into them.
  5. yeah, what's a volt between friends?😉 You could probably us a 12V ps as well, if the milliamps are roughly the same.
  6. Jazz necks are narrower than P-bass necks, especially noticeable at the first few frets...maybe that threw you off? Nut width on J-bass is 1.5", P-bass and Rick 4001 are 1.625", Hofner violin bass 1.65", Rick 4003 is 1.6875...
  7. I thought you already were.... my stable doesn't compare to yours, though....
  8. ^ looks like part of my stable....😉
  9. you can order those parts online, and they are pretty simple to replace.
  10. ^agreed a pic would help. jammed open...or jammed locked? combo or key?
  11. wrong song to reference during Covfefe, fersher, dude: Hands, touching hands Reaching out, touching me, touching you 😉 I have heard a few guys mention they feel 'out of shape' for gigging. Me? My transition/re-invention to full-on solo is almost complete, so I will find out shortly...but as to side work, I've been fortunate...it has been slow, but predictable...if sometimes downright weird dealing with the mask on/mask off scenarios.
  12. yeah, and nothing from nothing is still nothing...and that's what I get paid....
  13. I always saw these as a solution in search of a problem...but people do buy them...

    NUAD!!

Interesting choice, and at 80 bux, such a deal! I vaguely recall there being some issues with the switching power supply and some diodes, but if yours is working, then the upgrade was likely done.

    Now he tells me

perhaps some Bible study would straighten out that un-Christian attitude. Remind him he is not loving you the way he loves himself...wait, that may not be the best approach... just go with the Golden Rule

    Now he tells me

Then, by all means drive yours rather than stealing one.... Passive DI boxes are not that expensive.... IIRC, and it has been a while, the Cube 80XL has a line out, a headphone out and a speaker out....have your sound guy try the line out without a DI...does your board have mic pre's?
  17. What's your favorite pickup type and position? the Open Jam Answer: Filipina women, and doggie style.
  18. sadly, that amp was not designed for guitar, or any live sound, and will be a disappointment...great monoblock amp for hi-fi, though!
  19. sounded like she has a tuning issue, maybe the whammy jacked her up?
  20. possibly. Replace the tone pot and see... That was my first inclination based on your posts. What year is your SG? 'frying' a potentiometer is not an easy thing to do, they should last decades [my '62 Melody Maker still has its original pots].
  21. view this video...you could skip to about 10:00 in. On your SG there is no simple 'do this', IMHO, because of the terribly sloppy solder and wire routing. If you brought this to me, I would unsolder all that spider...first...and then re-do it neatly. Then I would be able to start looking for shorts. but...for your approach, when you do this: " I connected the volume tab to the 2nd tone tab directly with a wire (no capacitor)" check the hot lead to ground with the VOM.
  22. looking at the 'spaghetti spider' soldered to that one pot by the switch, I would probably start there.... yes, you should trace each connection with a VOM, and test the 'hot lead' and see if it is shorted to ground.
  23. that stuff is better to strip finishes, in my limited experience...
