  1. viscosity cup.... what paint? what thinner? what tip? did you read the manual that came with the spray gun?
  2. ...relax, slow breaths...no coughing!😉
  3. Why, yes, yes you are! de facto as well....
  4. you must not own any Gibsons from the early Norlin era. They can't even nail down a year on some between 70 and 72...
  5. pictures I've seen...in the flesh wood? Not a one...I hear they sell out pretty fast, but too pricey for my budget.
  6. no offense taken...many years...started before we went to Gibson....
  7. got google? Seriously, this is not something any one could answer for you in a few paragraphs. There are youtube vids out there...
  8. you mean the 'golden-era Gibson design as the inspiration for a vintage Martin that never existed'? Never even saw one...
  9. Yes, there are far too many choices...but that is a wonderful thing! I'm only going to scratch the surface here .... Based on the musical styles that you listed, and the under $1000 limit, if it were my choice, I would be leaning to a real hollowbody, rather than something like the SE, as there are so many decent quality hollow and semi hollow guitars out now that list under a grand. Epiphone, Gretsch, D'Angelico, and a number of other companies have flooded the market...and I would probably be leaning toward something like the Epiphone Wildkat [2 P90s, and a Bigsby], or possibly a Grestch Electromatic [2 Filter'Trons and a bigsby] or a D'Angelico Premier SS [2 humbuckers], Eastwood Classic 6, and on and on. Used options abound as well, like a Dean Palomino [3 P90s]... Bigsbys do take some getting used to, and they can be a major PITA to change strings...but they have their place at the table. As to amps..depending which 'Champ' version you have, for gigging with a live drummer, you would likely want something at least 15W [tube], with reverb...plenty of choices in that range now as well...the ubiquitous Fender Blues Junior [I own 2], Vox AC15, Marshall DSL20, Blackstar HT20 [I own 1]...or go for solid state, like Quilter [I own an Aviator head], or a modeler like Line 6.
  10. This method is, and has been, done for a number of years. In Gardo's case, he opted for a low end unit to 'try out' the concept. I would suggest that a 'high quality' amp modeler and any well-made powered speaker will lighten your load considerably, and produce reasonably satisfactory results.
  11. I have never tried a DC power amp...but amps typically convert AC to DC....you need to look at the specs for any specific amp. 1) find a new drummer. 2) what music are you playing that needs over 600W for bass? 3) how is your hearing?
  12. which is why you have 'personnel changes'...
  13. participation trophy!😉
  14. Shaster...do not let your guard down. Stay vigilant! Governments have started kowtowing to the whiny people, but the pandemic is not over yet. I have turned down a couple of indoor gigs ...but the weather here is improving, so once outdoor gigs are available, I'll go back to 'work', socially distanced, boostered ['borcestered' for the Bostonians😉] and carrying my N95.
  15. total deal killer! I realize the stool is not OEM, but it would be the perfect height to knock the amp off of....
  16. somehow I think the cost of shipping from Israel will kill the deal...
  17. ah, Pyle Drivers have that metal cone, too...dang. The stool, used, is worth ~$25...the amp w/o JBLs ~$250 in pristine shape...if you like the way it sounds.
  18. from 1990...each track in one take...considering it is 10+ minutes long, the initial acoustic track runs the entire length...
  19. IIRC there were 4 SS models under their 'Zodiac' series...Scorpio, Taurus...Libra? I don't recall the 4th. Never saw a Scorpio, but I vaguely remember the hype back in the day. A band mate in the early 70s had a Taurus, but I don't believe he ever used it with the band. They only made them for one year, 1970-1, but being rare does not equal being valuable...oddly, 1970 was also the year Fender released the 400PS bass head...which also flopped...for different reasons [Fender made a number of non-liftable amps over the years...] Looks like a pair of the original vintage JBLs in there...how much is he asking? I would ask him to pull the speakers out and ship those, and toss the amp.
  20. ah...well, with no intent to destroy what was....I will forgo.
  21. Thanks...you should know not to expect anything normal from me by now😉 During that era, I was singing primarily backups with my then band 'small CROWD', but I was writing a ton of music for one of the lyricists in the band. What are the rules here for posting music..I know it is about one take, and this is probably the only non-multitrack original I have; that said most of the tracks I record are done in one take, because they were intended to be a notepad, rather than a finished piece fully produced. Many were recorded on my Guild D25 acoustic as a scratch track, which I usually just left, and then tracks like bass and drums were added. So would I be permitted to post some of the more complex '4track' [with ping-pongs] material I did in the 90s, as long as the tracks were all done in one take? And ...I actually do sing on some... I have put a few on that soundcloud page, some of which y'all might enjoy...[or not?]
  22. or bridge ground lead shorting...or a number of other things...that's the PITA with working on hollowbodies...just when you think you got everything stuffed back in perfect...the same problem comes up again.

  24. and a 'notify when available' link... So the less expensive ones will be back in stock eventually,,,and the ones you linked will still be twice the budget...glad you see humor in this. Wonder why they are sold out and the ones you posted are not? So, are you making up the extra $30+ for the OP or not?
