  1. Did you report him to Reverb when that happened? If you are suspicious that this guy is trying to pull something, then let Reverb sort it out. What is the Reverb listing? Maybe we could all go in there and give him a hard time....

  3. a real Gibson case will run about $200 here in the states. https://www.americanmusical.com/gibson-les-paul-original-hardshell-case-brown/p/GIB-ASLPCASE-ORG?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic shopping&utm_campaign=surfaces across google&src=Y0802G00SRCHCAPN&adpos=&scid=scplpGIB ASLPCASE ORG&sc_intid=GIB ASLPCASE ORG&src=Y0805GLSHAMS0000&gclid=Cj0KCQjwi46iBhDyARIsAE3nVra2v3gA1_Urq94ytDItPX0dKLSbbLJhgd2DeKe7XqKstW_yZCSGPPoaAiK7EALw_wcB

  5. youtube would not have been my first choice.... If you are serious about knowing, maybe try here: https://organhistoricalsociety.org/ Until about a century ago, the compressed air required for organ wind used to be generated by bellows that were operated with the feet. On large instruments, up to 12 people were needed to perform this strenuous task. Bellows were developed in Ancient Egypt. Before the invention of bellows, early pipe organs relied on water cisterns to control wind pressure. This is why the ancient predecessor of the pipe organ, invented by Ctesibius of Alexandria in the 3rd century B.C., was known as a hydraulis.
  6. note to op: I merged all the related threads for simplicity... so this?
  7. The parts are worth more than what you paid*...so if it plays well and sounds good, don't worry about the price! *£189=$235
  8. Yes, my bad, series/parallel.
  9. these are what I use now, plus they are good stage monitors, and no pre-amp required: https://www.sweetwater.com/c134--PA_Speakers?highlight=TX308&mrkgadid=&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gpla&mrkgbflag=1&mrkgcat=drums&percussion&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=92700073370090886&lid=92700073370090886&ds_s_kwgid=58700008063423976&ds_s_inventory_feed_id=97700000007215323&dsproductgroupid=1824422034604&product_id=TX308&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&device=c&network=u&matchtype=&adpos=largenumber&locationid=9031634&creative=624396267553&targetid=pla-1824422034604&campaignid=18437397300&awsearchcpc=&&&gclid=CjwKCAjw__ihBhADEiwAXEazJtx7BxpiPZYAg3NxX57oVEeoKQNzDBZKcwkaBecHV_FSCg7B9lni_hoCxrAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  10. Take them all in to the shop except the Epi LP. Not sure what to say but why did you buy these guitars if they sounded so bad? The wiring issues should be easy to correct for any competent repair tech. If you know how to solder, you could probably do it yourself, as wiring diagrams for just about any configuration can be found online. The Wolfgang copy likely just needs the grounding checked, and maybe some cavity shielding. If all your guitars sound thin, are you sure it isn't your amp creating the problem?

    Psionic Audio

look at the dates of their posted videos...the comments all date to the same time frames. Very weird....maybe 'Lyle' is still posting under their aegis? Did anyone check their FB page yet?

    Psionic Audio

I'm sure you've tried this: info@psionicaudio.com To be clear, I only have a vague recollection of their stuff from well over a decade ago...are you sure they are still in business? They were in Tennessee, IIRC...Memphis...their twitter account does not exist... tried their Youtube channel? Blanks...if you use facebook [I do not], you could try there? The most recent posting on their website is 2011 from what I could see...
  13. does the amp get louder when the tremolo circuit is engaged? the schematic is unreadable, btw. Is the tube [which I can't make out what it is] driving the Tremolo circuit brand new, used, original?
  14. wax coating? If you are referring to potting, that is not so much for hum as it is to reduce feedback. Gg25, you repeatedly mention that you seem to have an issue with seeing the strings over the body....but no one looks straight down on the guitar while playing, unless you play lapsteel/dobro. Either you are creating your own issue, or you have some serious technical issues with your picking hand. There are so many things that generate potential noise in a guitar circuit, but the pickup covers are the absolute least of the concerns, IMHO. But yes, if they are installed they should be grounded to the rest of the pick up. Cavity shielding, on modern guitars and basses, is pretty much standard [okay, maybe the el cheapo Chinese things would still benefit] for the major name builders as bp mentioned. And yes, if the HPF is not 'engaged', then it should be completely out of the circuit, and have no effect on tone. and as to the type of Alnico V being used...are you kidding me? Can you tell the tonal difference between them? I certainly can't. Seriously...you are overthinking your process to the point you have stymied yourself into inaction. Go buy a guitar and play!
  15. wired in parallel, then yes, 4x16ohm would be a 16 ohm load.
  16. stereo without separation is pretty pointless....
  17. Although I am not into 'shred machines', you scored! I vaguely remember those from the mid 90s, and of course...you got it in the correct color!😉 Worst case you could part that out for more than you paid for it. and yeah, it does have that Reb Beach thing going on...except the headstock is too Kramer-ish. Also nice to see another Babylon 5 fan....I'm a 'bonehead'!
  18. Gib, I'm laughing because I've been saying that for the last three years.... We are running on fumes, zero admin support, ad revenues somehow keep the lights on, and there are a handful of moderators [4, actually] keeping the peace while waiting for the flame to be blown out.
  19. Tubes are better from the Russian factories, rather than the Chinese, IMHO. . BTW, I just read that Western Electric is goingto start producing 12A_7 tubes in the US shortly. They found equipment in places like Slovakia and are moving them here. In the interim, I would try the TAD https://www.tubeampdoctor.com/en/tad-12ax7/ecc83-redbase-premium-selected https://www.tubeampdoctor.com/en/gz34-str-tad-redbase-premium-selected or Tube Depot [they carry TAD, but better to go direct to TAD], they do pretty good on JJ tubes https://tubedepot.com/products/jj-ecc83-12ax7-gold-pin-preamp-vacuum-tube?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplpJJ-ECC83G&sc_intid=JJ-ECC83G&gclid=CjwKCAjw5pShBhB_EiwAvmnNVw3AhjSKBeMWOSshE_V0SmlQPnmiNA8YM4VLbp7Nx7u7DhDBXsNMHhoCNpsQAvD_BwE https://tubedepot.com/products/jj-gz34-5ar4-rectifier-vacuum-tube?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplpJJ-GZ34&sc_intid=JJ-GZ34&gclid=CjwKCAjw5pShBhB_EiwAvmnNV1rqDz_To4_4OVg02N8XZpG1xa6ed5ppyAE7neIlJNQ2ywzr9mRUzRoCH6oQAvD_BwE The Genalex Gold Lions are very good as well, but much pricier...as are the Electro Harmonix tubes.
  20. I did have to adjust to the Gretsch-style 'half-moon' left edge inlays [see my avatar]..took about an hour
