Somehow, my D'Addario Artist capo vanished. As much as I like my Shubb, it's not as quick to use and doesn't clamp onto the headstock. I found another D'Addario on eBay that was missing a little plastic gizmo for attaching a tuner but the price was right. It arrived Saturday and I have some preliminary impressions. First, it seems to be made for a fairly thin neck because the tension adjuster is almost "wide open" for my electric. Second, this is the model with the grip on the fretboard side of the neck instead of the back like my old one and that's taking some getting used to. Anyhoo, without further adieu, here's a pic:

One of the Crest amps unbridged will work just fine. So should the Yamaha by itself. You'd only gain an extra 2 decibels of headroom going from 250W to 400W anyway. I have no idea where the notion of an amp exceeding a speaker's capacity comes from. My background is HiFi gear and in that realm you don't want to exceed what the speaker can handle. No need for more gear IMHO.

I've had a Cube 80XL for a while and it's more than adequate for my humble needs. Cost me less than $200 used. Oddly enough, it has a "line out" but our church sound guy mics it anyway.

If you have a good independent music store nearby they might have a box of random parts. I'd be interested to know what exactly is happening. It's possible the knob is slipping on the shaft. If not, the gears must really be chewed up.

Nice bedroom rig. My "bedroom rig" is a cheap Alvarez acoustic that sits next to the living room sofa. Like Mrs. Mikeo, Mrs. DeepEnd would object to a guitar--much less an amp--in the bedroom.

Good advice so far. Tuners are rarely responsible for poor tuning stability. If necessary, replace the cheap plastic nut with TUSQ or something similar. And yes, go with 11's or even heavier. A beginner is going to be ham fisted anyway, making it more likely she'll pull the strings sharp.

Bentleys were around at least in the mid 1970's. I've heard that production stopped in the late 90's. Yours could be nearly 50 years old or it could be newer.
