  1. Sorry to hear about the setback but glad it worked out.
  2. Congratulations. Glad it worked out. You're a much braver person than I am. I wouldn't try it on my beater.
  3. Sweet looking guitar. A college friend had a Cortez back in the mid 70's.
  4. Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom 10-52. D'Addario makes a similar set that I've used in the past. Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Light 11-52 on acoustic. I play a bit of everything.
  5. Still not going to work. Save or convert the files as .jpg or .png and try again.
  6. If you're so inclined, you can make your own. Here's a how-to: https://www.g2.com/articles/epk. Adobe has free templates available: https://www.adobe.com/express/create/press-kit
  7. I also have only one electric. Mahogany body with what is supposed to be a flame maple top, maple neck, rosewood fretboard.
  8. Not my cup of espresso but I'm not a Strat guy anyway.
  9. I think that was about the hypothetical experience of owning it.
  10. Clearly I'm in the minority but I don't think it looks that bad. Kind of Mosrite's take on an SG.
  11. Past listings on Reverb.com start in the low 4 figures and go up from there. Who knows what you might be able to get for it. I wish I could be more help.
  12. The acoustic forum is pretty dead. I post here occasionally and in the o/t forums but a lot of the time I just don't have much to say.
  13. Congratulations. Happy New (Traded) Guitars Day.
  14. Well, obviously "cotton candy" makes the sound sweeter. Seriously, it helps minimize resonances that occur especially in smaller cabs.
  15. Yeah, my home practice amp is an SWR, a brand that isn't even around any more. I find it more than suitable for my humble needs. I'm sure a Fender, Orange, G&K, Peavey, etc. would work as well.
  16. garthman - Well done.
  17. The neck on this particular bass gets thicker--as in the back of the neck to the fretboard--at about the first fret. I was curious if that bothered anyone else. The neck on the bass I have for practice/noodling, an Alvarez "Villain" bass, doesn't do that.
  18. In the early days of COVID, Neil made a YouTube version about "Hands washing hands..." I, for one, appreciated it.
  19. Okay, just in case anyone is still paying attention, here's my latest original, a hymn called "The One Who Watches Me." FWIW, I wrote the lyrics in December, 2018 as part of a hymn writing class but didn't write a melody until recently. https://m.soundcloud.com/david-phelps-681437607/the-one-who-watches-me
  20. I filled in for our bass player Sunday and I noticed the neck on the church's Mexi J-Bass felt--idunno--off when I played notes at the 1st fret, like there was some source of strain. Never noticed it before but I also don't recall playing any notes at the 1st fret. Anyway, is it something to do with the shape of the neck at that point or just me?
