Yeah, and I reconsidered....

But your ability to judge people completely based on a few forum posts is still completely working.

At the point of that post, ALL of the other posts you made in this thread defending being a scumbag is all I had to go on. If I would see evidence to the contrary after the fact, I would have to weigh that into my "judgement" also, but so far, you were about zero for five. So, if you really expect me to take your "honor and integrity" seriously, not that I expect you even care, but if you did, but you would be starting at the opposite end of what I personally would consider honorablility and integrity.

Not really a good start to our relationship, dont you think?

no, go back, you missed one. Then I mostly checked out of it other than to tell people to stop insulting one another.

When I made my first post, I read, had an emotional reaction, responded, then got into 'combat' mode chatting. I came back, smacked myself, and said "I was wrong, I suck.". And moved on.

Which is why I suggested people cool down. Not everybody posting defenses is evil, and nobody is perfect. And the personal attacks DO NOT help anything.

I cooled down when someone said something that didn't occur as an attack. It made it easier to reconsider and actually think instead of react to the attack. It just works better.

And of course, I did it again in my earlier response to you. So, sorry about that.

OK. I did miss it.

But I stand by your initial response as creepy. If you retracted it and gave it some thought, and realised that you wouldnt want to do business with the person YOU were presenting yourself as, then no harm no foul. I didnt see your retraction. Like I just said in the above post. I will happily weigh all the evidence, good and bad. I had nothing to go on up till that point except very negetive posts from someone I wouldnt want to do business with, except a post I didnt see which might have taken some of the edge off of what I posted. Stiil, the internet is a dangerous place if you want to change your mind after posting. I have definitely been guilty of it, but once it is out there, it is out there. and I have to be completely honest with you, If we were to do some kind of transaction together, I would always have to wonder which one of YOU was showing up for the deal.

And that is completely fair. On my end, I have been dealing with some AC warranty BS, in 100degree heat, for a week. I was (and still kinda am, but at least the AC is now working as of about 20 minutes ago), in a very "{censored} the world and die" sort of mood. I admit to being cranky, I definitely get that way.

Anyway, thanks for at least looking at my last post.

At the same time, I think everyone should take a step back. Things (and especially people) are not black and white.

I spent four hours today on the roof of the Seminole Hardrock Casino. I measured the temperature up there at noon at 117. degrees fareignheit. I threw up and then I went home.

You're both human beings. Get on the phone to the man or woman and talk it through. Say that you made a mistake and ask them to reconsider. If they refuse, you may need to live with it, but I doubt most reasonable people would create trouble. Many many guitars come and go. They'd have to be a bit of a twat to not just take the money back really. But then, there are some parts of the world where people are so focussed on their own individual 'rights', that they would seek litigation for someone sneezing on their dog.

i threw up on someone's dog once... the morning after a party... i looked down and thought "bloody hell... i don't remember eating that"

:lol::lol::lol:

That's a pretty good aim you have there. You also don't seem to have very effective stomach acid, unless you were eating rocks again?

No need for tears, you recognised good advice and did the right thing when you really didn't have to. That's the kind of thing that earns street props and self respect. Way to go bro :cool:

He thinks that spouting cliche Latin terms will somehow prove his point. Translated it means that the law doesn't concern itself with trifles (he's saying that trademark violations are too small a matter for a court to get involved with). Of course, as has been the case all the way through this thread, he's a bit confused as to reality vs. his perception thereof. It's a legal principle that is is used more in cases where, for example, a local ordinance requires you to build 6 feet from the property line, but you build 5' 11.5" from the property line. Technically, you are in violation of local building codes, but it's unlikely that any court would entertain an action regarding the matter.

Yes, I believe (please prove me wrong) that Trademark violations in the form of "This guy has a Fender logo tatooed on his arm!" are going to be so trivial that Fender themselves will not pursue it. Much the same as "This guy, onetime at band camp put a Fender decal on the headstock of this one guitar he had that was really a Squier!!! He has no integrity!" :cry::cry::cry:

If you feel that strongly about it, I suggest you put yer money where your mouth is and go tattle tale to Fender for {censored}s sake- do something USEFUL!
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

When it comes to the OP, I would have backed out of the deal and kept my guitar with all apologies and moved on with my life. And if I were on the receiving end of that transaction and I suffered NO LOSS, I would easily forgive, forget, and move on.

I actually agree with you on that part, as long as he offers at least a token of compensation for the situation..

You made the right choice. Think things through a little better next time.

and for God's sake, don't post about it here.. You knew it'd be a {censored}storm because most everyone here is gonna support the buyer looking for a new guitar. :rolleyes:

Completely agrre. I dont do a ton of business on this forum , but I DO do occasional business. I will now be adding a bunch of names to my list of people never to even consider doing business with after seeing their responses to this thread. Some of those people supprised me, some of them didnt.

All I can say, is thanks for the warning, scumbags.

If it were me, I would have emailed the person telling them that the guitar was theirs and would be shipped to them promptly....unless they'd be willing to sell it back to me. If they were willing to sell it back at a reasonable price, the problem would have been solved. If not, I'd have sent the guitar. So, you did the right thing. :thu:
