  1. before you drop what is essentially spam into our community, it would have been polite and prudent to ask permission, and where we would deem it best to post.

  2. first...what's the budget? Hardwired 9V or battery or both? Footprint? True bypass or buffered bypass? I was faced with a similar situation several years ago, and I put a TC Spark in the chain and it was exactly what I needed at the time, and also convinced me to switch back to my previous OD pedal from the one I was using. Will it play nice with 'Sweet Baby'? I will say that the 'Timmy', used correctly, will probably convince you to pull 'Sweet Baby' off the board.
  3. Davie, however is in a less 'temperate' climate than we are. It really comes down to how you 'keep' the room where the instrument stays most of the time. A house/condo/apt with central air/heat is the best situation, where you can control the environment pretty accurately... but humidity can be a concern as well, but fairly easily remedied.
  4. The issue with replacement pickups is you will never know which one will sound best until you have tried them all. In your guitar. Because it really is not an objective decision. I have found that the audio codex on youtube makes using their videos useless for this type of research.
  5. My personal preference is unless I'm using the instrument all the time, it remains cased [acoustic, electric, solid, semi or hollow*]. Semi-hollow guitars like 335s are less susceptible to variations in humidity and temperature than acoustics or full hollowbody guitars [ES130/Casino, 330, L5, etc...] *because I live in earthquake country...hanging guitars on the wall just seems like a real bad idea.
  6. To be clear, better pics needed, but it looked 'reasonably' authentic. Kluson Deluxe tuners did appear on Martins at varying times [when they went '14 fret'], and the absence of a soundhole label is not necessarily wrong either. So yes, it could actually be a Martin and the seller's ignorance is their loss. The thing with Martin's is they have made so many guitars for so long, and have been copied/faked so often, that without being able to see the construction/key details [neck joint, bracing, wood, frets] and without being able to play it, I would pass on that.
  7. no favorites...there really is very little difference, unless you want those coated/treated strings**, which I don't use [I would if I lived closer to the beach], and there really are only a handful of actual string manufacturing plants. So I like* Fender [not Bullets], D'Addario, Martin, EB Slinkys,, S.I.T. [are they still around?], D'Arco...Rotosound, La Bella, D'Angelico/De Merle... Basically I buy bulk packs on sale, so whoever has the best deal when I'm getting low becomes my favorite for the day. Gauge-wise it depends which instrument, I keep .011, .010 and .009 sets for the electrics...I like light gauge on acoustics because I am antiquated. *just reading off the labels in my 'stockpile' ** I have a couple of sets of Cleartones which I have yet to use....freebies from somewhere, maybe a winter NAMM show? let's see...rock, blues, swing, jazz*, folk*, country, cowboy, Great American Songbook... I play finger-style and with a plectrum, depending... *I have combined these into my own stylistic fusion, I call it 'Jolk'
  8. I agree^.... use the drums to set your 'max' level, then mix the rest of the band to that. I would also suggest that you need 15" powered speakers or 18" subs.
  9. once you break them in, either one should work fine. I have a personal preference for Celestion, over anything by Eminence, but that is just me.
  10. I'm intrigued... Gibson used to make a case shaped similarly, I've seen for like a ES335-S. The 'view-port' is very odd, as we try not to disclose what is in our cases... So...whence camest thou by this particular case? Was this a Craigs-list find? For $40, just to lug a tele around to local gigs, such a deal! I worked for one of the top custom road case companies back in the 90s, and am always intrigued by oddball designs. I spend a lot of time finding good quality cases for reasonable prices for my acquisitions, and for clients who want to get away for the perilous gigbag. A shot of the interior, handle and the latches/hinges would be helpful. looking at the shot of the raised/embossed character...could that be some kind of Japanese kanji?
  11. hmmmm...not much happening on their website.... https://peerlessguitars.com/ IIRC they 'changed hands' back around 2019...and I do not see any new ones for sale on the web...so...
  12. try looking here: https://schematicheaven.net/vox.html
  13. I hope you have found a more satisfying and professional group to play with.
  14. There are other alternatives, but Deoxit is certainly okay. Just using a potentiometer is 'harmful', as it has a limited 'useful' life.
  15. At your service! What may I do for you?
  16. you need to get better 'free stuff'...your Any Run clearly showed 'malicious activity'. "This IP address (152.195.19.97) is a proxy connection and is associated with recent SPAM blacklist activity or abusive behavior. IPQS proxy detection scoring ..." aka 'bad juju'
  17. yeah, there was some bad juju waiting on the other end of that link. One word worth a thousand pictures, eh?😉
  18. okay...in what amp, what speakers....see what I'm after? I like my Blackstar HT20 because it is an EL34 amp, but does a great 6L6 imitation of chimey clean, stiff bass tone. But change the speaker... tubes are only one piece of the combination...
  19. I think the music in the video was done on a curvo...no slides, no bends...
  20. Wow! What's next...a curve neck cello? I'll give them credit for 'doing something', but solving a problem that isn't a problem is a waste of effort. how do you do string bends? Chicken pick? No strings....not a guitar... I'm sure people who don't have years invested in learning the instrument will say 'gee, neat...how much?' And nowhere did I see an MSRP...so...I'm out.
  21. talk dirty to me!!!😍 yeah, what I was trying to convey was how subjective descriptions of sounds can be. What does 'sounds tighter' sound like? The other thing...a 6L6 tube can sound very different in different amps, as can an EL34, EL84 and so on. So we can suggest any tube that our personal experience with a certain amp may equate to what we [subjectively] consider 'tighter sounding', but in the OP's amp, with different pre-amp tubes, different PT/OT/bias/speaker/tone stack? Far too many variables, IMHO, to define a tube's effect on sound to unequivocally make a pronouncement. YMMV...
