Hi we just got a new drummer for our band but ran into some issues. Our drummer uses about 6 mics for his drums and relys heavily on the mics to drive his kit.
Our first gig together outdoors, we mic'd him up straight to our mainboard but we were clipping heavily with our powered 12" EVs. Distortion City. Ughhhh
Anyways, A friend said to remedy this issue, we should purchase separate powered subs and have the drummer go from his kit to his own mixer via XLRs, to a direct box and then to our main mixer. Will this work? Reason is his kit was using a lot of lows and it was crashing our PA speakers. If this is correct, please elaborate. Thanks
