After the NAMM show, there have been a ton of threads regarding new gear, and recent gear that has come out. So, what do you guys think is the biggest piece of Overrated or Overpriced (or both) gear out there?

I would probably have to go with the insanely priced 1 Watt Marshall amps...:thu:

Well, at the expense of beating a horse to death, Gibson Les Pauls for me. There are so many guitars that can do what a Gibson Les Paul does at a fraction of the price.

Another that comes to mind is the PRS tremolo, which will run you $400-$500. It's only a guitar part, not a whole guitar. What, are they gold plated or something. C'mon.

I think signature guitars and relics are generally the most overrated/overpriced.

For example, when they were available the Elvis Costello Jazzmaster cost a few hundred more than the AVRI series and there wasn't anything different about them other than the signature and the finish. And the finish was probably easier to do than on the AVRI series.

There are always exceptions though, and the Johnny Marr Jaguar sounds like one of them. It brings some real functional differences over the AVRI series and it costs the same.

Has anyone played any of the 1 watt Marshalls that didn't go to NAMM?

How can you possibly find it to be overrated if you haven't played it yet?
:idk:

I have never played a Dragons PRS - but I know they are overpriced. Which is what he said about the Marshall
