Members Danoman
I just got this super cool Silvertone 1449 today, this guitar is part of the Silvertone Classics line that came out a few years ago. I've been curious about these since they first came out, I finally pulled the trigger on one. Retail price is 379.99, I made an offer of 310.00 and free shipping for this one new on Reverb, and the seller accepted. The guitar arrived with a decent set up, and nice smooth fret ends. Sounds quite similar to the Danelectros in my collection. I'm very pleased with this guitar.
Members thatsbunk
Looks straight out of the Sears "wishbook" catalogs I remember when I was a kid. Good luck with it!

Members gardo
NiceReminds me of one an old friend had back in the 70's ,he was one of my early guitar influences He played through an old Oahu tube amp and I loved that sound.HNGD
Members Danoman
VERY pretty! I had the original 1448 model. Is it hollow? Thanks! This one isn't hollow, it's got a mahogany body. I've got quite a few danos so the solid body wasn't a deal breaker... Something different. Members GoldJim
I had an original from the old Sears Wishbook. I'm sure these new ones have been engineered better. Mine came with a tube amp built into the case! I destroyed it when I finally saved enough for a Les Paul. I did like Hendrix: I smashed it and ceremoniously set it on fire. Oh, if I'd only kept that dang guitar. I'd have sold it at the peak of their popularity. Congrats!
Phil O'Keefe
HNGD! How's the neck on it? Is it big and clubby?
Members GAS Man
Yeah, as I mentioned in you pre-NGD thread, I think the solid mahogany body gives them a bit more versatility in the tone dept. As I've mentioned, that's the only one I didn't buy of the 4 reissued electrics. I'm still GAS'n to complete the set. Nice price. Hope you enjoy it. And as I mentioned, the only thing I wanted to do with my U2 version was to raise the bridge p'up. I was able to get it lifted a bit using the screws on the back, but soon the screws just get loose. But I do like the tones I get. Now you should get the 1478 ;^)
