Members TravvyBear
'86 MIJ neck from a '62 Tele Custom reissue. Super comfy. I had a mid 80s MIJ '62 RI (with the double bound body and painted in CAR), but it was basswood, and it always sounded thin and weak, even with replacement pickups and new bridge installed. I eventually sold it, but I still had the original bridge from it. I found a '62 RI neck in the spam thread and jumped on it. The body is a '09 or '10 MIM alder body. So essentially it's a '62 RI except with no binding ( ) and a different body wood type - and the difference in wood type DOES make a BIG difference in the sound of the guitar. Arguably more handsome, but with less hair, less muscle, and a new vs vintage Tele. I'm not losing any sleep over it. Thanks for the neck info Phil, I appreciate it.
