Members twofoolsaminute
I am currently in love with a cheapo tele copy. I wonder how much happier I'd be with a nice Telecaster. I'll probably never know.
Members chrispscott
Tele. Nothing else sounds remotely like it and it pretty much defines my sound.

I'll probably never know. So was I (Squier telecustom II), that is until I upgraded my amp from a Roland Cube 30x to a JC-120... the Tele went from being to being noisy and just ewww.... My LP studio however sounded better If I could have only 1 guitar, Id have an explorer no doubt
Members billybilly
I'd take a PRS over the 3 mentioned.

Members caveman
Why is it that the telecaster gains votes in the wee hours of the night, and the stratocaster gets votes during people's lunch breaks from the office?Working musicians posting after the show and part timers posting at their real job? Members clay sails
Why is it that the telecaster gains votes in the wee hours of the night, and the stratocaster gets votes during people's lunch breaks from the office?Because Teles are experiencing a kind of Renaissance at the moment and people on the West Coast of the USA are hipper to it? Members Help!I'maRock!
To me theres no better tone than the 4th position(bridge&middle) of a strat. Sounds great on just about any amp:thu:to me, there's nothing more awful than the 2 & 4 positions on a strat. they're like fingernails on a chalkboard to me, and i'd rather have them wired in series to sound like a humbucker. Members WoodenDuckMaker
someone needs to make a strat/tele hybrid like this... strat body tele neck string through body vintage tele bridge w/brass saddles tele bridge pickup, strat middle/neck pickup 5 way switch, strat wiring you'd get the comfortable, cool looking body of the strat, with the delicious twang of a telecaster, and tone versatility with the strat pickups too. Members stormin1155
Tele, because it seems that when I'm learning a song and trying to find THAT tone, I can go through half a dozen guitars I have hanging on the wall, and end up finding it on my tele.Tele = everything you need, and nothing you don't. Members schoolie1
What if there were a perfect modeler that could make your guitar sounds like any guitar and pickup combination? Based on comfort, feel and looks, what would you play? I voted tele regardless:thu:
Members Ziggs65
When I was a teenager, I lusted after a Les Paul until I got a Strat. For 10 years, I thought I was a Strat guy until I bought a Telecaster.I still have the Strat, but it is getting dusty.

Members Timmy51
I've owned all three, but I keep gravitating back to the Strat. For me it's the most comfortable guitar to play.+
Members edoates
why do people keep saying guitars that arnt a LP,tele, or a strat? blows my mind... Try to order off the menu at my restaurant and ill personally come out and slap the {censored} out of you. My answer: Strat Slap away: then you'll be in jail and I'll get a free dinner. I never met a guitar player who is willing to be herded or forced to make arbitrary choices. That's why we change pickups, tuners, amps, knobs whatever it takes to make the guitars we have look, sound, and play like we want them to. That's why we keep picking things off the "menu" proposed. Oh, and if I were you, I'd stay out of the service business. Eddie O
Members hellion_213
I voted 'take up drums'. I'm not a big fan of either of the three.

Members cincy_cosmo
Strats are the most comfortable and versatile guitars made.
Members mymindsok
I own three Strats right now and I love em but if it was only ONE guitar.... Sheesh... I'd have to go for a Tele with a HB in the neck. You can use a Tele for anything!
Members WoodenDuckMaker
i recently converted from a LP guy to a strat guy. Mostly due to the fact that I finally found a strat that I can really bond with (owned 5 previously). Since strats have more variables and configurations, it makes it more tricky to find one thats just right for you, than it is an LP. Nothing to really say that people here dont know. I was just sick of my bottom heavy LP tipping back on my lap. Love the comfortable body of the strat, and its more balanced weight. I also enjoy and use the tremolo, and I like the brighter crisp tones of a 50s style strat. I will miss the sustain of the LP, and notes high on the fretboard of a LP have more punch than on a strat, but overall, I enjoy the strat more. Members Goofball Jones
AAAAAAAnd coming down the last stretch LP and Strat are neck and neck with the Tele trailing behind and Drums bringing up the rear....going to be an exciting finish no doubt... Understand that this poll is only for entertainment purposes only and please remember, no wagering.
