Members Fireproof
Curious about the Les Paul users out there and wanted to do a little poll here. To keep it simple, I'm not asking about the heavier gauge strings so we don't have to get into "lights" versus "custom lights" etc. JUST YOUR 1st E String. Do you use 9s? 10s? 11s? or other? Members Fireproof
And the 10s are taking an early lead... Not surprising. I guess LPs ship with 10s for a reason, right?

Members soundcreation
I've got a box of 9's right now but when they are done I'll go back to 10's. It's really not a big deal though if you've got a good guitar. A good guitar will support any gauge of strings. If you need heavy strings to make your guitar sound good then it's a dog. Members lp_junkie
12's for the high E on Les Pauls for me, 56's on low E.
Members Spike Li
I voted other because I use 9s on my Edwards (came with them so i kept it that way) and 10s on my LP studio. I also use 9s on my Godin which is a gibson scale, but 10s on everything else
Members Alecto
Well my Hamer Studio's essentially a double-cut Les Paul: I use 12-52's on it but I top-wrap over the tailpiece.
Members Mechanoized
13's, but I also tune to C standard most the time on it.

Members bluesnapper
11s on all my guitars - my no. 1 is a Strat so they feel nice and loose to me on the shorter scale-length Les Paul - which makes a nice different from the tighter Fender.
