Members Doctor49
Well Done DC! I am really enjoying a thread where so far folks posted their stuff and there were genuine ooohs aaaahs and long low whistles. Its a relief to get away from whining about top range guitars and mocking other peoples playing. But then this is the internet - what else to expect. Lets hope it sticks. I got a '65 Arbiter flat top acoustic - still in UK - no pix - unusually with a truss rod, enclosed tuners and it used to have a good tone for a beater. Then the bridge started to lift the soundboard - which lowered the action a bit (!) but when I left it 15 years ago, it was sadly in need of work. One day...................................... Members metalheadUK
My Satellite LP copy was free.My wife rescued a very sorry looking LP copy from where we rehearse. It was {censored}ed....no tuners, no pickups, damaged frets, and the body looked like someone had tried to smash the guitar up.I took it home, filed the offending frets, stuck an Epiphone and an Ibanez pickup in, bridge, tailpiece and tuners from my bits box, and she was good to go.It's got a plywood top, with a huge hollow area under the pickups...makes it sound like a semi, really warm and woody. It's currently set up for slide! Members Brian Krashpad
I have a batch of these. Will put them up one at a time and DC can tell me in or out, as I'll admit to some mystification on the boundaries. I'll start with one on the original list so I know I'm in, no matter other rulings. Brownsville Choirboy, $100, VG, pawn:

Members Brian Krashpad
Oops. Spoke too soon. Fender Tex-Mex Tele, $125 used w/gigbag. Since it's Fender I assume it's disqualified as well. I have another batch in the $200-$300 range but assume those weren't cheap enough.

That's one of the things I love about this place. Do $26 Gretsch's qualify? I've got Xaviere, Fullerton, Samick, and Oscar Schmidt to cover me even if it doesn't. I'm in.
