Members krish
Will get. I hate saying that before I've even heard a demo, but it seems pretty likely I'll grab one regardless. I've always wanted a decent sitar emulation that wasn't in the excellent but inconvenient Roland GR variety, so hopefully EHX have stepped up to the mark. Members Zappa74
only EHX could do this and pull it off. I bet you it can do at least 10 other effects besides sounding like a sitar. You can make it sound like a sitar that sounds like a church organ.
Members One Man Banned
It's probably going to be too expensive for a gimmick pedal that you'll maybe use for one or two songs before it starts sounding overused. How about a programmable Micro Synth with presets like the POG 2 instead?

Members mhuxtable
Looove the idea....but realistically (like OMB said) how much use can you get unless you're in a Bollywood band? and if that's the case, you already should own a sitar... Members ChuckNorris1982
I would like to bet this doubles as a harmonizer. I might be very interested in this, depending on features and price.

Members SpectralJulian
DO WANT. I bet it does a bunch of things other than a sitar sound. I'm guessing that it is basically a comb filter that tunes to different scales, but I bet there's a lot more to it. Notice under the hazarai knob there's a modulation option. Comb filter plus modulation could be great.

Part of me thinks that the R+D guys at EHX thought people will find uses for this outside of Indian music, as well as within it. If things like this are made more accessible, more people will experiment, and existing genres can evolve, and new ones be created. It's exactly why I'll most likely be getting one if the sound quality is on par with other EHX pedals.
Members Faldoe
i hope it tracks horribly. if it does i DEFINITELY will be getting it. I wish some pedals had a tracking option, like a knob that allows for {censored}ty {censored}ed tracking and nice smooth tracking. I'm wondering what other sounds/overtones you can get out of this pedal. Could be a great tone sculpting...

How about a programmable Micro Synth with presets like the POG 2 instead? You say this as if Mike Matthews and his product specialists were sitting around in front of a dry erase board with "Sitar Emulator" on one side and "Micro Synth with presets" on the other side, and they just decided "Well, these were the only two projects we wanted to take on on this time. We're going to to the sitar pedal, and the other idea will never see the light of day!"

Members V
Will likely purchase, especially if it sounds like ass. Bonus points if it sounds like a bagpope. Also Larry Demarco better play some tired blues in the demo.
