Does anyone know of a place that sells a variety of, or can custom make plates that slide over various switches?

Or do you have any ideas how to make something similar yourself?

For example if I wanted one to say just "Tone" or "Trim" or "Depth" or whatever.

Here are some examples of well known ones to get a feel for what I mean.

A local guy here designed a amp circuit that I was interested in due to it having good clean toanz, so I decided to build it and give it a whirl. Sure enough it does sound pretty good clean (maybe slightly overdriven when at a decent volume).

It has output, trim and gain controls.

It takes pedals really great (demo with fuzz and modulation coming soon)

The dremel got away from me when doing the input jack.... oh well. Might try to fix that.

Future mods include output (for bigger cab, headphones, whatever), power jack, and solar panel for solar power option.

Very cool!

Just finished a clone of the Monster Effects Swamp Thang tremolo. Very tasty. Reminds me a lot of the tremolo on my DRRI.

Finish on the pedal is anodized red from Pedal Parts Plus -- they've got some really great finishes. thumb.gif

I know some of you here have heard me babbling about Apex Electronics in Sun Valley, Ca. more than once.

For a DIY type, its like a candy store, but better.

Since moving to Northern Nevada, well, I can't find anything even remotely close to Apex here.

Now I know some of you HCFX'ers are in or near the Sacramento area.

Is anyone aware of a place like Apex near the Sacramento area?

Thanks

Could you guys link me to how you etch your own boards?

I was looking it up and found this link to Jameco:

http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/PressRoom/makeoneetch.html

Seems pretty simple, but I know there is usually more than one way to skin a cat and I wanted to know if this method has worked for you.

Also, the sell the stuff he uses for $50 (http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/sto...ductId=2113244) but I have no idea if that's about how much that stuff costs or if it is a mark up of a kit. idn_smilie.gif

mine's {censored}ed too. i want a legit station.

Can't speak for UK specific, but I really like my Stahl. 5-40 watts, nice station, replaceable tip, stock one is great. Cost $20.

Weller is prob the best, but those jump up to $80. If you are going to be putting a lot of pedals together its worth it I think, but if its just one here or there I dunno.
