  1. I have tried a ton of Ibanez. Their guitars and basses are great value for the coin. I have a very old Kala U Bass, it's an interesting piece. It's probably not for everyone, but it sounds like a double bass with the rubber strings on it. If you're playing rock the Ibanez has no bad reviews that I can see. Over the years, since many of my favorite shops I love had gone belly up or where closed/ by appointment during the pandemic. I buy alot more gear and accessories on line these days. Even more costly instruments. Sweetwater, Musicians friend and host of others, will let you buy a piece of equipment and if you hate it, you can return it no questions asked. I got Kala as a gift from a friend. I tend to play it through a SWR California Blonde. https://instaofbass.com/kala-u-bass-the-instrument-that-took-the-scene-by-storm/ Might as well add this vid
  2. Nice, looks like the amp issue is solved. I have a Gibson GS 5 Lester Paul Jr amp and a second generation Marshall class 5. They can get pretty loud, so I know what ya mean. When I'm playing through them, I tell my wife it's not that loud and you are hearing history in the making.
  3. You don't need a new amp or Hot plate, you need a new wife. I have Yamaha THR-c for those moments. Good enough for practice and quiet guitar moments.
  4. You're simple irresistible. This may be the new hug and hand shake for the rest of my life. I'm ok with it. Or even power of five knuckle knock. It can be a light touch or no touch. You can always leave facebook up to converse with folks that have some thing to say. Maybe Google stream your show, for folks that are sick and chose to stay home. It's a different world now.
  5. I just happened to see this thread, but here's my take on the whole thing. You folks can do what you want. We are 2 years into the covid pandemic. People a lot smarter than me have done a lot of research and came up with a vaccine. I got my first vax last April, as I was work for the local Transit Authority, the second one came in May. After leave the Transit company in Aug of last year, I got the booster in December. Yes, the vaccines made me tired, which lasted for a day or so. My wife did the same 3 vaxes, at a few weeks later. The booster made her really tired for a few days. So the booster effects folks in different ways, just like the covid itself. Some ended up in the hospital, some hardly nothing, and many, as we know, died. I wore a mask a lot of the time and haven't had a cold in 2 years now. I haven't gone that far, but I'm still out in public. You still have to buy supplies and food. The mask mandates are now starting to lift, but for me, I may look like a fool, but I think I might be wearing a mask in the shops and stores here for a long time to come. A covid booster will probably be a year vax, like the flu vax. The vax were free too, bought and paid for with your tax dollars. So forgive me in advance if I'm still wearing a mask this summer when I'm in the grocery store and you don't recognize me. When I run my dog or walk the streets, it's no mask time, but I have one in my pocket. Scientist and researchers gave you the tools to stay healthier, whether you choose to use those tools is up too you. Politicians, imho, they are nuts any way. Now if and when I ever get to play out again, I may wear a mask till I hit the microphone. Like I said, you folks do what you want. I'm not twisting any arms either way. On that note in the past 2 years, I got 3 covid shots, shingrix 1&2 ( my wife had shingles and almost lost her vision, she spent a year going to the optometrist pretty much on a weekly, bi weekly basis. One steroid was 500 bucks for this little bitty bottle, without insurance. She went through a few bottles of that steroid. Thank god I have a really good insurance plan) Tetanus, and flu vax last season and this season. My dog Luka got all his vaxes too. Same with my 2 kitties. Now we all have the Billy Gates Mirco chip.
  6. I have one of these too. Pay not much for it new, right around at the Gibson take over. I have no idea what the serial number is, but I could look at it. Nobody in TN wanted a round neck Dobro, but a guy from Massachusetts did. Nothing like a white kid trying to play da blues. I have a few slide too.
  7. Mine is D 12 387 92 B which means D= the Style ( like H33 with a round neck) 12 month 397 instrument built that year Year manufactured was 1992 B= is a metal body ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last 2 digitals on yours makes no sense to me.
  8. Like this? Mine has the larger cone. This is the H33
  9. I remember those too. I think the Gibson was a Mojotone built amp, with a Gibson Badge.
  10. I paid like $260 for this when it came out. It's cool, but not this kind of coin cool. Mine is cherry. https://reverb.com/marketplace?product_type=amps&query=Gibson Goldtone GA-5 Les Paul Junior Reissue 5-Watt 1x8" Guitar Combo
  11. Bravo Very very nice. I enjoyed your playing a lot.
  12. I was at the market late this morning. Lots of shelves were not as packed as the once were. The Pasta aisle was pretty thin. Marinara sauces, very thin. Good things the Ketchup shelf was full. I be eating good in the hood tonight.
  13. NOTE: Due to high demand and the ongoing global semiconductor shortage, the Axe-Fx III MKII is currently out of stock. We expect to re-supply by March 1. If you would like to be notified, please send an email to waitlist@fractalaudio.com with the subject "Axe-Fx III WAIT LIST". (If you do not enter this subject, we can't notify you.)
  14. I remember those coming out in the early 80's. All Bullets were made in the USA. After the end of 1983 the bullet guitar ended. The interweb is filled with all kinds of info. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Bullet
  15. There's ton of options. Do you really need and acoustic amp? Maybe just a PA Maybe you're mic-ing your classical, maybe not. IDK. I gave a couple of Fishman acoustic amps, they are nice and kind of what they are. The Fishman Mini Charge is cool and that' only 60 watts, so 50 watts really ain't that much power. The charge has bluetooth for backing track. The other Fishman I have is old and called the Loudbox Performer. I got it way back in the day. It's the old one in black tolex. I also have a Fishman solo amp, which turned into the Fishman SA220, which turned in to the Fishman SA330. I have ever had and issue with my solo amp, but my buddy had and issue with his SA220 and it had to back to the factory. Made in china. I'm in Massachusetts and Fishman is a MASS based company. I like Bose stuff for different reasons, but you didn't discuss any budget. Bose PA's sound very nice. I use a Bose S1 for home solo practice, in my cellar. The Bose line goes up from there. You can hook two S1's together. There's not a huge amount of bass to it. I just might order another one. I had plan to do a busking thing before covid hit. No need to worry about any busking right now here in New England. 22 degrees snow and a 25 mile/ hr wind. I asked myself how quickly to I need to breakdown when the cops arrive. Seriously try a bunch off stuff out. Walk away and think about what your needs and budget is, go back and try it again. Repeat if necessary.

  17. This My first guitar I played for like 2 years. I got it free from the next-door neighbor. I'm not sure I could even play it if I still had it. It was a like a classical, but with steel string. One day the whole top just spilt off the the sides. With my Saturday lesson comin up I took some wood glue and glued it back down. I loved my Saturday morning lessons. Eventually I bought a new acoustic, Made by Kent ( Gibson Hummingbird Copy) and took 2 more years of Saturday lessons. That Kent sounded huge, compared to what I was playing. Years ago I was in a shop in Amherst MA. A guy was comparing a few pre war Dreadnought Martins. I asked him which one he liked better, and he didn't know. I asked which one plays better and he said they kind of feel the same. I said they pretty much sound the same too. The price tag was more than my car. These day 100 dollar gig can be the norm. It's pretty sad and kids don't seem to go out any more. I guess musicians are competing with Nintendo and Play Station. Plus online stuff like Fortnite. Plus a 6 pack of beer at home. Different world now. I had never heard of Fortnite until I was subbing at a local HS. Never owned a video game. When I was a kid my neighbor who was in a band, he would tell me that his band pulled in over a grand for a nights work. He was the bass player and played a Gibson EBO and an Ampeg SVT. He's dead now and smoked and drank himself into an early grave. My wife's ex husband, was a keyboard player in the rival band. My wife says the day they sold the Hammond B3, with the woo woo woo speaker ( said honey it's called a Leslie Speaker) was the second happiest day of her life. The happiest day of her life is probably when her divorce was finalized. That kind of puts me some where inbetween but below those events. 20 years later she meets me, another musicians. I told her girl, your a glutton for punishment. Some of my first words I said to my wife were, what's the name of your cute friend you with. My buddy goes, you know that blonde, well she's really interested in you. I was like oh. I had just ended another relationship with another nut job. My wife and my dog drive me nuts every day. We have been together for almost 30 years. I was the chosen one. All in a all, musicians are a crazy pack of wingnuts, when it comes to gear. What folks think is awesome, is a mystery at times. I once owned a Danelectro U2 (Beatnik Burgundy), folks love em and I hated the thing. My main electric guitar when played out didn't cost much. The guitar in my HC prifile is a Godin 5th Ave. I was at a trade show when they came out with the ones with no pickup. I was thinking that this guitar needed a pick up. The guy at the booth said we have those coming. Kind of sounds like a ES 125 at times with a slightly hotter pup. I'll plug mine in to a Gibson Goldtone Les Paul Jr amp or a Fender Princeton RI. Now in MHO the Princeton is the most over priced amp these days. Not when I bought mine, but today. Just some idle chit chat for this evening.
  18. Not for that price Strymon makes some nice stuff. Bigger footprint. I have an old hall of fame on my pedalboard .Size was an important issue. This all I use and have for a decade. Almost 5 bills 300 bucks
  19. I have one of the last Fender Twin's that are rated at 135 watts. I bought it new for $125.00 and the the trade of my Musicman HD 65-210 combo. I think the year was 1982 or 1983.
