  1. send a PM to ksl...he's still shows up occasionally...my guess is he didn't.
  2. The '-EV' is the highest quality standard for Soviet-era tube manufacture....like I said...these are mil-spec tubes From VivaTubes site: "These are the special EV version which means they were produced at extremely high standards for the Soviet military and are the best version you can get "
  3. You are right, I ignored the tooling cost since they didn't state it, but typically the NRE is the killer. Tooling gets defrayed over units built. I still have to ask if you have applied for a patent, because showing your concept around without any protection is asking to be ripped off [don't ask how I know...]. However, if other companies have a display/process that is similar to yours, then you may be SOL. I take it you have not built a working prototype?
  4. If you can find a matched set of the 6P14P tubes, I 'd go with them. They are a true 'mil-spec' tube, so quality wise they should be top notch. I've seen them all over eBay, so they seem to be plentiful.
  5. Standing by for #4. I hope this one goes better for you than #3...which seemed to give you issues almost every step of the way until the last 'indignity'. I like the grain in that mahogany...linear with character.
  6. so...ask them who might be interested in your idea. The reality, though, is that the development costs could be prohibitive [$20k is actually not outrageous], and you need to evaluate the target market. What would be the time frame for ROI? How to market this? How many units could you sell? Have you applied for a patent?
  7. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! what a waste of a marvelous instrument. You should just will it to me, so you will rest in peace knowing it is in good hands....
  8. That is a shame. I actually expected you to have greater damage risk near the neck, where there would be less flex. It is such a nice sheet of spruce...maybe you could cut it down to a parlor size?
  9. Yes a nice axe, indeed, but not a 'DW-300'. That BW has a split back, whereas the DW shown has a 3 piece back.
  10. That is a unbelievable find! Many BCR acoustics sell well over $1000. I am more familiar with their older electrics [having briefly owned a Seagull]; as there is no serial number, and I could not find any reference to a 'DW' series, I suggest you contact BC Rich [now in Florida]. support@bcrich.com
  11. Kwak...yes, I would think you can salvage the top [which was a lovely piece, btw!]. Rework is always harder than initial work, so be painstaking while removing old material, and don't settle for 'maybe it'll be okay', because 99/100 it won't be. [ a hard lesson learned on a repair several years ago that I lost money on trying to save money]
  12. and so you posted here, and the gearpage, etc...a bit over excited?

  13. did you try googling 'touch screen manufacturers'? try this we can discuss my consulting fee later...
  14. Sorry but that kind of spam doesn't fly here...buh-bye!

  15. or may not be an image at all.... If you are having difficulty pasting an image or a link to an image, please PM me and I will assist you.
  16. Oh, and...that trapeze tailpiece is a copy of the standard Gibson ES175 trapeze. In fact, the guitar is an homage to a 175....
  17. I'll admit I am not an expert on Washburn, especially once production moved to Asia. Washburn, as you may have already discovered, has no archive pre-1990...wonderful, eh? I agree I never heard of a Washburn HB75...but there are HB models, HB obviously standing for Hollow Body. There are single p-up HB15s with that Florentine cutaway. Maybe that '7' was a '1'? My guess is that yours has been modded, originally maybe it was a J series, like the 3 [which has the Florentine cutaway]. However there are several issues with that assumption, mainly the pickup locations, the neck inlays, head inlay, the pickguard and tailpiece do not look like that model. More likely it is a J-10 with a different headstock inlay, and modded pickguard but the rest is pretty much there. I hope this helps at least get you on the trail.
  18. looks dangerous...you could poke your eye out on that!😉
  19. on the plus side, you hadn't gotten to attaching the bridge yet....
  20. That is really tragic...I can't imagine how frustrated you must feel, so much work, so much mental stress to have it all stopped by one small error. Are the back and sides are still in good shape? Or is it hosed?
  21. I know, I saw the purfling grind out...not to worry, #1 is a beaut....and I can understad wanting to make the changes...but having watched the #3 saga for so long, it is hard to let go....
  22. because you won't be working on #3 if you go back to #1
