Members dimibetan
Did you ever bought used PUs?Where? In Ebay, Amazon? How was it? Any Ebay store you recommend?Experience buying used PUs from an Ebay store named "The STRATosphere"? Thanks
Members CanIBDom
I bought 2 clearance pickups from Guitarfetish last fall (a Dream 180 and a Crusader). The 180 was the black-on-black model, and it had just a few light pick scratches on the top, which is removable if you're cool with the open coils look. The Crusader looked perfect. Members Artslinger
Never bought PUs from The STRATosphe, but have bought necks, bodies and other parts. Never had a problem with the store, top quality stuff exactly as shown in the listing, plus fast and fairly priced shipping.
Members smorgdonkey
I've bought many used or pre-owned but unused pickups...on eBay, or from classifieds. If it is in new condition and half the cost of new...I'm usually on it if it is something that I am looking for.

Members dimibetan
Is it ok to buy used PUs, or buy new ones because they arent good?
Members donsimon76
I have bought many used pickups off of eBay and never had a problem. I just approach it like I approach any eBay purchase: how is their feedback? Do they have enough feedback to trust them?

Members Doctor Morbius
I buy used pickups all the time. Takes less time to break them in. I buy them on ebay, here, wherever. Just test them with a multimeter and if they measure correctly you're in good shape. I've also gotten some good pickup deals at my local GC on closeout. Members Bert-O-325
I've purchased used pickups on Ebay before. The only problem I ever had was that the wire leads on one were really short (weren't shown in listing photos). Guy never returned my emails, so I just had to solder wire extension on it to use it. It worked fine, tho. Guitar is long gone.
Members unistudent1980
It's a magnet and copper wiring. Used or new you're not going to see a massive difference with anything recent.
Members dcindc
I have bought a LOT of used pickups. A LOT.Never a problem. Stratosphere explodes new guitars and sells the parts. So the pups aren't really used.

Members Saturn
I bought a set of Tom Anderson's off of craigslist. Put them in my Agile. Sounded great.
Members hardtdc
Yeah, I've bought used twice. Once off of e-bay: a set of Duncan Seth Lovers without covers for $75 that I used the gold covers on my Agile AS-820 for and stuck in that guitar. 2nd transaction was off of Craigslist: a pair of Duncan 59' and Jazz without covers for $70 that I took the gold covers off of my Epi LP and stuck in that guitar. Both sets work perfectly.
