Members Anderton
I was wondering what they'll call it after 10.9.9. 10.10, of course. When it reaches 10.10.10, it will be officially rated X.X.X
Members offramp
Craig has two FTW in this thread, only slightly behind Duddits, with his impeccable reasoning about purchasing an OS named after a species, and pwnage about pronouncing Moog's name properly. Members Ernest Buckley
I am never excited about an OS update until a year after its been out... Same here. I always let them work out the quirks. When its truly running like it should, then I jump.
Members Geoff Grace
I always wait for the green light from Digidesign before making any OS upgrades. I also check their compatibility documents to make sure I have the appropriate versions of my plug-ins. Even then, I won't rush to upgrade -- I'll do it on my timetable when it's convenient. That's not to say I'm not looking forward to the upgrade. I am. It's just that I'd like to... Yes, since the word "Vista" just screams macho heterosexuality. It's like a big, hairy, buff, oiled up, naked man of an OS.
Members UstadKhanAli
I'm secure in my masculinity, so I'll buy an OS called "Fruity Lavender Flowers" as long as it works great. And as for chest-thumping heterosexuality, this animal is too gay for you?

Members ggm1960
So.......anyone know........can I install the OS10.6 disc on a MBP running OS10.4.11 without it overwriting all the currently installed apps?
Members deanmass
I'd be a lot more excited about it if my pre-ordered copy would ARRIVE....Sheesh... And we are pecking at each others re: the NAMES of the OS now? OSX Rhymes with SEX Windows Rhymes with 'It Blows', though I supposed 'Blow Leopard' is an option for the other side of the fence. Don't get me started on Eunuchs...Or Linuchs ( lines of Eunuchs)...

Members ggm1960
I just got it installed but I put it on my older MBP who's most important function right now is POD Farm/KB37 which I haven't tried yet. Edit: I tried it and it looks like a go.
Members offramp
I like that idea, thanks! That's pretty much the way it's always been with Apple, even all the way back as far as OS 8.0, 8.1, 8.6, 9.0, etc.

Members Mr_You
Well I decided to see if I could go back to Ubuntu on a 2006 model HP laptop. Couldn't do it... I doubt Googles Chrome OS will work well for me either. The new uni-body Mac laptops are just designed so well. I might give Snow Leopard Server a shot too. Looking forward to see what they offer in the next-gen consumer models.

Members ggm1960
I'm still waiting for Line 6 to give the go ahead on the KB37 hardware before I install the SL on my newer MBP. The Hercules firewire interface I use is out of production so I don't know how that's gonna shake out yet.Fortunately I've got the older MBP to do my experimenting with.
