To wrap things up for HCEG 1.0, just in case 2.0 causes the big migration everybody seems to think it will... When it comes to:

Gibson vs. Fender

US-made vs. Asian

"Original" designs vs. copies

Epiphone vs. Agile

SX vs. Squier

Nitro vs. Poly

Humbuckers vs. Single-coils

Alder vs. Mahogany (vs. Plywood vs. Lucite, etc.)

Tube vs. Solid state

Analog pedal boards vs. Digital combo pedals

Digital vs. Analog

D.I. vs. Amp

Bone nut vs. Graphite

Tremolo vs. Hard-tail

GFS vs. All-Parts

... and every other gear debate we've ever had along these lines on this forum, the CORRECT answer is always exactly the same:

Plug in the guitar and play it.

If you like the results, then it's a good choice.

The end.

Finally, now that all that electric stuff is settled we can start arguing about acoustic guitars.

I heard those cigar box guitars are 99% as good as Martins for less than 0.00001% of the price but if you need the Martin name on the headstock... or even a headstock for that matter... it's up to you snorkle.
