Jumped on one, thanks.

Stolen from Slick Deals:

Best Washburn Deal Yet: Washburn WV66 Set Neck Flying V Electric Guitar with EMG 81 Active Pickup for $299

I posted these earlier for $400, but it looks like they dropped the price another $100. As long as you don't mind a flying V, this is the hottest deal yet. Also, if you bought one earlier from them, you should try getting a price adjustment. They are usually pretty good about that.

Washburn WV66 Set Neck Flying V Electric Guitar with EMG 81 Active Pickups w/Gigbag $299 Shipped

MSRP: $1169.99

Reg: $598.99

Sale: $298.99

$750 and an hour with an orbital sander, and you've got a Les Paul! :)

Snagged. Thanks for the heads up...Always wanted a P-90/humbucker combo guit and the kill switch on this looks like fun. 50/50 I'll like it enough to hang onto it, but their return policy is good.

Should be a great guitar, only thing I am not sure about is the kill switch,It says.

The kill switch" is mounted in the usual upper-bout selector switch position

A dedicated one would be nicer but it might be ok.

Have to wait and see.

From my experience, which may or may not be typical, I would advice against buying this guitar. I paid 249.00, and I was never happier to send a guitar back. Right out of the box , it hummed incessantly in all but the neck only position; and from what I've read since then, wiring problems are typical for these. Also, I'm sorry that I cannot remember the forumite who posted this, but he said that his store avoids these VM models like the plague.

Of course, YMMV. Guitars built in different factories and/or on different days could vary widely in quality.

See the discussion HERE. I am surprised that it doesn't have the new cheap-a** PCB control assembly. Should be easy to install a proper 2+2 control configuration, if you wanted to. I like the one-piece wraparound stop bar tailpiece, but I would want to pick one out at the store that intonates well. No online ordering for me on this one. Baked maple fingerboard if that matters to you. It's basically a nicer version of the SG faded with some twists. It might even make me break my rule and actually go into Guitar Denter to see if they have a nice one and will take the 15% coupon additional discount.

That is really nice that Sweetwater actually goes to the trouble to list the serial numbers and specific photos of each guitar in stock. They really seem to go the extra mile to aid a customer in making an informed purchase. Too bad there aren't more dealers like them.
