Fiest, St. Vincent, Kathleen Turner Overdrive

In a thread inquiring as to what music hip kids listen to nowadays, this post should probably be taken as the gospel and end the thread. EchoD is definitely the hippest hipster I've encountered here or anywhere else on the interwebz.

I'm far from hip, and no kid, and I accept new music very slowly. Best newish album I've heard is

Tame Impala: Innerspeaker

1:1 ratio of threads with "hipster" variants in the title to {censored} threads.

Edit: The new Walkmen album, Tanlines just put a listenable record out, Class Actress has a few good cuts out, Sebastien Tellier put out a {censored}ing porno of a record, SBTRKT kills forever, I think Air just put something new out ("Seven Stars" is the single), Geographer is always there, Van Hunt put some good {censored} out earlier this year, everyone needs to listen to Nick Waterhouse, {censored} you

Currently 5 minutes into a 41 minute song by Jean Michel Jarre. I guess like many others, getting into electronic / ambient music, so the last few weeks have been pretty heavy with Eno / Jarre, et al.

Lately for me:

Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister

Bill Frisell - Good Dog, Happy Man

Sharon Van Etten - Epic

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Sonic Youth - Murray Street

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless remasters

Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend

Kind of a "what are you listening to ATM" post but people call me a hipster so it may be relevant.

Hmm.. I'm not very young and not very cool, but new music I've enjoyed recently includes Feist, SBTRKT and Jaga Jazzist. I also enjoyed albums by Gotye, Ed Sheeran and Michael Kiwanuka, none of whom are even a little bit hipster, but who cares?

That White Denim thread on here a week or so back has me interested in listening to their stuff too.
