I don't have a smoker either, my compromise is to put the meat on the top shelf of the grill, and cook it over wood chips for at least 30 mins before slow-cooking it in the oven.

I have an amazing smoker my dad made for me, but I live in an apartment :( Damn fire codes

HELLZ YES!!!!! Gene and Murdoch FTW!!!!

Thought you might dig the ribbage, Loop. :thu:

nurp, seriously, mang...just ask us questions, I'll be glad to answer what I can. I'll give you one tip, one something easy. Pretty much everybody can make sloppy joes...brown up some ground beef, drain, add Manwich sauce, proceed to nom. But try this - add a bit of cinnamon to it after you've combined the beef and the sauce. Not much, a pinch or two will do the job - and proceed to nom. Trust me on this one, nurp...do eet. It's good {censored}, and VERY easy.

Xance's dad is the undisputed BBQ captain of the universe. He owns his own business selling smoked meats, and building custom competition BBQ rigs.

WANT!
Hey murdoch, ever made your own sloppy joe sauce?
It's not too different from making BBQ sauce...
and sloppy joes are FANTASTIC on toasted sourdough, if no one has ever tried it.

Never given the sloppy joe sauce a go before...I don't do sloppy joes all that often, but I'm definitely willing to try that. :thu: I know I would HAVE to have cinnamon in it. I was just giving jnurp there a simple tip for something easy, to get him started.

dude, sloppy joes:

brown the meat, and drain.

salt/pepper to taste.

onions

green peppers.

cider vinegar

brown sugar

ketchup

yellow mustard.

= pretty much all it takes.

When you add 50 ingredients, it goes downhill pretty quickly.

Exactly!!!

though cinnamon seems like a nifty idea....

Yeah it's not too hard. Except I like them spicy, instead of vinegar it gets tabasco and crushed red pepper.
