  1. I have a tone-master, I like it. This.
  2. I dunno, I can think of a few other color Ferraris I'd own...
  3. Searching for Ynwie's Ferrari collection, I found this pic of him at the drivethrough. BAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! 'Bout to "unleash the fookin' fury" on a couple of rotisserie chickens!!!
  4. Also, I wouldn't own a Ferrari in any color other than rosso corsa. Fixed.
  5. He posted cars. he posted cars tooooo view. Oh what a thing to do. And they were all yellow. Hey, I'm not complaining. I dig yellow cars, too, just an observation!
  6. Speaking of which, my older brother dropped a 351 windsor into an '83 foxbody. Machined it to 6.7 liters and low and behold got the sumbitch to start. He posted on FB all giddy saying it idle'd loud enough to knock it off the A jacks. Jeezus! You've gotta get some pics of that fucker to share with the class!
  7. Which cars make your pulse quicken and your shorts fit funny just looking at them? Performance is important, but ITT, appearance counts just as much. My personal faves, in no real order: '67 GTO '69 Boss 429 Stang ZR1 Maserati Granturismo S Ferrari 458 Italia Saleen Parnelli Jones 5.0 Stang Pretty much anything Aston Martin (carbon black Vantage, in particular...) '66 427 AC Cobra I've always been plum crazy for a '70 hemi Cuda, too... '63 split-window 'Vette
  8. I still love me some metal, I'm just damn picky about it these days.
  9. I use this stuff. This, when cleaning your guitar/changing strings.
  10. Nah, it's a young Ben Stiller reflecting on his future in films in a cool way. ROFL!!! I never realized how much Syd resembles Ben! I wonder if his dad shouldn't be asking some questions!
  11. So people could see him as he pedaled home. ...in a cool way! Fixed.
  12. I have to say, this thread has gone way off topic. The OP asked a valid question and deserves a genuine answer. After some research I believe Eddie found them in a truck stop and thought they'd reflect the light in a cool way Just to sum up - LULZ!!!
  13. I found this bitchen vest in a truck stop the other day... ...and when I wear it, I always feel like I'm reflecting light in a cool way.
  14. HEY!!! I'll have you know that my main cab is an old Peavey Butcher 4x12, and it sounds awesome!!! Oh... wait... I forgot... It's got Greenbacks in it!
  15. For the stuff you guys are mentioning I would choose a Mark III over the Recto. Standard Recto, maybe. Lonestar cleans > Mark cleans. Also, no 6L + EL goodness!
  16. Out of curiosity, what kind of music to you play? If I only played more modern music (metal, alt/rock from 90s and 00s etc) then I'd be more than happy with a Roadster or Road King II. However, I find in general the DR amps to be lacking for some of the other stuff I play ('80s hard rock, '60s-'70s classic rock). I agree with your assessment if we're comparing ONLY the high gain tones of the RKII vs. the XTC - the RKII has a bit more meat on those high gain tones and channel 3 vintage with gain around 12:00 - 1:00 is WONDERFUL! However, I need a bit more versatility in my sound and I'm not merely seeking a high gain beast. The XTC gives me very good high gain tones, and excellent cleans (20th anniversary 6L6 is great for that!). Channel 2 offers the option of a great classic hard rock crunch or a rich plexi mode that gives great light overdriven tones for 60s and 70s stuff. IMO that is where every Mesa I've heard has fallen short. I play everything from Stevie Ray Vaughan to classic Van Halen to Rage & Metallica. This is why I ended up buying the RK. It runs that gamut overall as good, if not better, than any of the other amps I tried when I was shopping for a new head, and believe me, I tried damn near everything! The RK's versatility was it's strongest selling point to me, and an area where for me, I think it still has very few peers. It's really a subjective thing, at the end of the day. You can do a lot well with either amp, but to my ears, the RK just did it all a little better than the XTC.
  17. There are not too many amps worth over $2000 IMO. I wouldnt pay list for a JVM , JCM800 , XTC or a RK. But thats why i buy used.I dont think a VH4, XTC or RK (etc) is worth the new price. Yeah, well, I'll probably buy used in the future, too. There's just too much money to be saved that way. On that, we definitely agree!
  18. meh, the RK new is only like $200 away from 3 grand. Walked out the door brand new at $2453 on mine.
  19. Also, I'm not necessarily even bitching about prices. What I said was that I didn't think the XTC was worth the price, just my opinion, of course, compared to some of the other amps I tried.
  20. You can pick em up mint all day for $2000+ Yeah, but when I was in the market to buy, I wanted to buy new. The tag on the Ecstasy in the store was WELL over 3 grand!
