Overrated Amps

You all are stupid. None of theses amps are overrated might I say not even over priced. You get what you pay for simple as that. Oranges are amazing amps, they might have a price tag to them but they're worth it. You probably never played half the amps you've named off.

Does anybody speak dumbass? If so, could you please translate dethjosh's message so we can understand him/her?

And I guess most people with >1000$ amps hates sub 1000$ amps.

It's pure rationalization. You spend $3500 on an amp, you want to feel like you got your $3500 worth of amp... even *if* a $200 amp can do as good. The fact that you had $3500 to spend *means* you have better ears than the people who can only afford $500, or $1000.

Oh I am an active member believe there are some great threads, builders and knowledge over there. However there is also a WHOLE boatload of bull{censored} over there too (my personal favorite are the cable threads).

It's a damn shame the mods deleted all the threads over there about the Alpha Drive meltdown (the only thing left from the event is a notice about a "change in policy" at the top of the site when discussing manufacturers
). What happened in a nutshell is some basement pedal "builder" took a bunch of $50 dollar JOYO ultimate drives (which actually do sound pretty good but are essentially OCD clones), gooped the insides, scratched off names on the circuitboard, repainted the shell to look more booteek and then sold them for a little under $200 dollars a piece stating how they could sound like a dumble in a box. Those things were selling very well over there and some people were raving about them until word got out about the truth of those "booteek" pedals. Then epic butthurtz, delusional defensiveness and outright mayhem occurred on the forum
.

Essentially it proved the long held theory that a very large portion of TGP contains a bunch of old suburban white guys who saved up their money and will spend it on anything that is deemed to be very boutique and placed at a high price. It doesn't matter how it actually sounds or if the design/sound is heavily based on something much cheaper (For example the Dumble vs. Fender comparisons).

:o:lol:

OMFG that sounds SO much like that group of douchebags. Too {censored}ing funny.

This. It's not about price..it's about people inflating the sonic value of these amps. Companies do it to justify a high price tag, idiots believe it and do it to not feel stupid about spending {censored}loads of cash
