Members this is paul
A little drunk? Better, actually. Drunk? Well. Probably as good as sober. Real drunk? I have no idea. You'd have to ask the people who were listening I'm sure it's not super. This. But I haven't played hammered since high school parties 10 years ago. I'm usually driving in one way shape or form. I plan on getting toasted at our next bar show though Really I like to have a beer or two and take a shot of whiskey before playing. Loosens me up
Members newholland
for real gigs, I complete agree. But if you're just jamming with your buddies hm. in that instance... less coffee. a coupla beers, and i'm good, but past that.. hopeless. there's probably a point in there where self consciousness fades enough to do whatever you want without thinking about coloring in the lines... but past it.. i just start forgetting how to play. Members Bumhucker
I get sloppy when I'm drunk. Weed too, I start to forget what exactly I wanted to play.
Members HumanFuseBen
Two beers in and my playing takes a dive. Hard. I consider this a built-in safety feature.
Members NITROHOLIC
guitar? a splash of booze on me would make me retarded. bass? {censored}ing bring it ON. i can play bass verging on passing out into a drooling coma.
Members BrendanO
Two beers in and my playing takes a dive. Hard. I consider this a built-in safety feature. The the only bad thing about this safety feature is that the nature of substance has the effect of defeating the safety measures.
Members Van_Muddlestein
Confused Little Girl was not a band. It was a group of professional drinkers. That answer your question?
Members Ovid9
I play better with a light buzz than I do stone sober as I don't tense up. However, once I slip past that lightly buzzed phase my lack of a really solid base of talent...well, things get hilariously bad fast.
Members knucklefux
horribly. i do OK up to a point, then it's amateur hour.
Members trailsofsin
Being a little drunk doesn't affect my playing, but I do perform better... more rockin/headbanging/moving around stage, so as a rule I try to get about 3 beers in me prior to hitting the stage. Being really drunk is a total gong show... my fingers just don't follow commands well. I don't perform high but jamming while high is awesome. Members OverDriven
With nearly any amount of beer I'm fine. I love playing live with a good beer buzz going. Liquor though? Forget it. Literally. Like I forget the songs. I got too {censored}ed up before one particular show and completely forgot a part of a song. I just stood there like WTF am I supposed to be playing?? Members goslats
I have no problem at all drinking and playing. It's the others around me who listen that have a problem with the music. LOL
Members chrispsullivan
I can play guitar drunk pretty well. Singing drunk turns really embarrassing very quickly for me.
Members Zeppelin Rules
When I'm tanked my playing becomes severely intoxicated as well. Smoking ganja and playing ranks amongst my favourite though. being drunk makes people more creative Spoken like an alcoholic less inhibited, maybe but that doesn't equate to creativity. Members shane159
Some of the best shows I have recorded are ones I do not remember. That being said, some of my worst shows recorded, I do not remember.
Members tlbonehead
if you're sober and the other members are getting somewhat drunk you can really tell. As my old soundman used to say, "it must suck to have to be the rhythm section as a lead guitarist".
Members bish0p34
I make a couple of stupid mistakes when I'm drinking or stoned. Usually just a little half-step note here or there.
Members jdog1
I feel looser and more creative when I've had a several beers at a gig. But I have a line I try not to cross. I call it the Slash line and I judge where I am by how well I play Sweet Child O Mine, which is usually in our fourth set. If I struggle with it I haven't had enough beer. If I nail the solos it I've had the perfect amount. If I drink too much and cross into Slash land I sound just like Slash circa 1989 - Sloppy as hell and out of tune! Members Goop
One or two beers max during practice and just water on stage. My memory starts to go by the end of beer two.
Members Rock Hardness
I am playing now. Not to good, but I is out of practice playing. Drinking, however, is going ok.
Members Harvest
I lose almost all coordination between buzzed and drunk. Sucks because that's always where I'm at when I try to play in public lol. At least I'm decent at drinking....
