Members guitarbilly74
By drunk I don't mean lightly buzzed or completely passed out. Just at that nice spot were you are not just buzzed but you are not about completely out. We had this jam last night with my band mates and a couple of friends and we drank a LOT It was interesting to see how the booze affects playing abilities differently for different players. I held up well and could still play with no issues, and so did my drummer. My bass player was hanging in there but barely.... one of our friends (playing guitar) could barely play anything and gave up after a few tries. We had 2 singers and one of them manage to sing alright, the other guy kept forgetting lyrics and {censored}ing {censored} up So yeah, how does the juice affect your playing? Members Sex Panther
I don't remember playing an entire St. Pat's show. Apparently I killed it. Nobody knew I was hammered until the set breaks
Members madrigal77
I can't play at all even with a buzz. And I mean even REALLY basic stuff. Then the other guitar player I jam with gets {censored}faced every jam and it seems to have little to no effect on his playing. Honestly I don't know how people can still play after drinking, because I sure can't
Members gdwill2u
I don't drink but I DO play poorly so I am assuming a little bit of booze might loosen up my playing.
Members Ron Burgandy
really drunk? noooooo, not at all. buzzed? yeeeesssss in between? if I know the material well. to add in an outside factor... if I have a ton of caffeine to where I'm wide awake and drunk? I can play my balls off. This is kind of unpredictable depending on an unknown number of factors so it's not something I plan for.
Members AxAxSxS
If I am playing the whole time I'm drinking, I do ok. If I drink first, its not so good. I can still play but I can tell its not as good. For a performance my rule is no booze till the set starts.

Members exafro
The few times I've tried I've been pissed that my fingers don't do everything I want them to do. I do tend to drink far in excess of what is considered couth.
Members Blakkwater
tipsy, buzzed and drunk, I can play fine. Hammered, obviously not. High, I often forget where I am in the song.

Members Miter Gauge
I can sing a little better with a two or three drinks in me but I have a hard enough time playing when I'm sober. The first thing to go is rhythm of which I have precious little to spare.
Members Whirlwind
Eons ago, drunk or even barely standing I could outplay my entire band. But back then I had time to rehe the songs on my own/actually cared. Now I'm in a band where the other guitar player thinks that bass and drums are there to "cover up mistakes" I care much less and can barely stand on my own buzzed because I am still WAY better than them when they are drunk. Members Caulk Rocket
Better. There's a slight delay already in my head, so I don't need to hide behind delay like a lot of wankers do.

Members Dolf
A little drunk? Better, actually. Drunk? Well. Probably as good as sober. Real drunk? I have no idea. You'd have to ask the people who were listening I'm sure it's not super.
