All of them, really, But, the violin and mandolin mostly. I have both, but I'm not very good on either of them. Still a work in progress.

I have a uke, and I've strummed a few chords on it, but I just can't entertain myself as well as I can with the guitar. I love the size of an uke, and I love the range and tone of a guitar, so I've gravitated towards small-body guitars.

The lute is another instrument that I am very strongly attracted, but I don't see myself really trying to learn that for many years.

Definitely cello and I plan on learning someday. Working on learning to play mandolin right now and it's a lot of fun. Same tuning as a violin..

I'd love to play the Dobro(aka Squareneck resonator) but those things are pretty hard for me since I'm not much into finger pickin'. Just couldn't get the hang of it.

I was watching and talking to this guy that was playing a marimba last weekend; always wanted to be able to play one. Other than that, I'd love to learn the cello. I have a friend that plays and it is so soothing.

I've always had a thing for hammered dulcimer, but I've already got a bunch of "work in progress" instruments (mandolin and harmonica, mostly) that I don't practice enough, and the last thing I need is another distraction. That and HDs are kind of big and expensive, and I don't have the space or the money for one right now.

 

Upright bass would be totally awesome, thought I don't think I'd ever be able to put the effort into learning to play one. Not having frets would throw me for a loop. I'd like to get a Dobro some day and learn to play slide, but that's not really at the top of the list either.

Own/play all of those except the hammered dulcimer, but a friend has started building those, since he retired, so plan to get one soon.

I can play upright. It is easy enough the real pain is developing the callous/hand strength to play for extended periods.

 

I would love to learn violin, but I don't have the discipline.

Mando for sure. But, I've decided to resist my impulses to dabble and try to focus my very limited time on the guitar. We'll see how long that lasts .... :-)
