  1. 2 solid top, laminate back/sides 1 all solid Son's are solid/lam We like all our guitars, but my overall favorite is the solid/lam Yamaha FG730S. The others are better in some ways for sure, but it's my "go-to, leave-it-out-all-the-time-to-grab-it" guitar. To me, it sounds a lot like my friend's Martin D-28. And, it don't have to worry as much about it "shifting" as much (very important where I live). Funny, I'm pretty much the same with my Seagull. It's on the stand all of the time and gets the most use when I'm home.
  2. That's my perfect day! All day wine tasting AND acoustic guitar.
  3. Are you talking about the FS720 or FG720? Two totally different animals. If you think you like the Alvarez better, you should probably wait for it because if you don't, you'll always wonder what if...
  4. IF, and IF, you can get in on the Alvarez deal, do it. The yammies are nice, but not in the same league as the all solid wood Alvarez's. IOW, you're buying into a much higer price point or league of git. Good luck.
