Members Funderbunk
Had the most amazing conversation with this beautiful girl last night... I tripped over my own feet an landed on my hand, forcing my fingers to try and reach back and touch my wrist (on my left hand). SO... the real question is, this girl that you fell for... have you told her yet? You could probably get a little sympathy lovin' at the very least... Members bvr775
Time to learn to play slide!!!! it'll give you something to keep you arm strength up while it heals. Bro i read what happened and i really feel for you. dont stress I got blown off a rail car 14 years ago and broke a my hands when i hit the ground. I was playing again before the casts came off. How much hell are your buds giving you. I dont envy the rehab though. Start buying squeeze balls and advill. I hate to say it but the break felt good compared to the healing. you dont want to get addicted to pills like i did.

Members A3C
i feel for yu, bro...BUT, it could always be worse. Here's my cousin who took about 7500 volts while wearing a gold wristwatch. lost his arm at the elbow. he was a fantastic player before the accident, and is a phenomenal guitarist now. he taught me to play...bottleneck slide, of course. I also have him to thank for my deep seated love of delta blues. Where there is a will, there's a way. BTW - that's one of his homemade cigarbox guitars. he also builds lap steels. Members Armchair Bronco
As noted, you need to make sure you have a plan to work with a physical therapist as soon as it's possible. And do everything you're told to do. Ask the PT whether a small hand & foot wax bath would help speed your recovery along. I badly injured the two middle fingers on my fretting hand a couple of years ago. Once the swelling had gone down, I used my wife's wax bath several times a day. Wax has these strange physical properties. You can get the wax really hot without burning yourself (compared to water). Really lets the heat penetrate deep. Anyway, mojo sent. Members darkcheef
Just put the SG in E. Next step is to attach slide to splint.. That's essentially what happened to me, no alcohol involved. The doctor gave me Vicodin for the pain... last night I took one (never taken them before) and actually heard a Woman's choir singing to me... Stay away from that stuff, my friend took so much of those that he got paranoid he cut his self and now he might have permanent liver damage from taking alot. Members budkingston
Broke the one the bones that sit between the knuckles and the wrist. meta carpel or something like that? Shouldn't be a big deal. You get an ortho referal, they put a cast on it, and you take it easy. As has been stated, take the Physical therapy seriously. I know it sounds serious to you, but really, from a medical standpoint, it is no big deal and there are not a lot of complications. Now, if you had fractured a carpal, that can have serious complications. You will be alright in no time. To cheer you up, this reminds me of a joke... What has 9 arms and sucks? Members billybilly
Hi. At the risk of being sued, I am a medical practitioner. Swimming is the best exercise for recovering, bar none. I heavily recommend it. Talk to your recovery therapists about it. Good luck!.
Members Darkstorm
Best wishes for complete healing. Yes do any and all rehab if doctor reccomends. Tell doc you need maximum hand and finger dexterity possible when healed. If possible see a hand specialist for guidance on what kind of therapy and time frames for becoming very finger active again. Too much finger use too quick could be a problem in some cases. Wishes for perfect recovery.
Members 23miles
I have had some experience with hand wrist surgeries. Metacarpals injuries are straightforward. Carpal injuries can be tricky. Ligament damage will likelyly require surgery. You need to be evaluated by a hand surgeon/specialist as opposed to a regular orthopedic surgeon. Members sxyryan
Just got it casted... The doc said the fracture will heal well, but is worried about torn ligaments he discovered on my middle and ring fingers... He took the splint off, and through a combination of the ligaments, broken bone and being cooped up since Thursday night,,, My fingers were floppy and pretty much lifeless... now that was painful. Members mrbrown49
That sucks, but at least your doc seems to think the bones will heal well. Did he mention surgery for the ligaments?
