  1. Jimmy Herring in Widespread Panic. Love Jimmy, WP not so much.
  2. I have never seen a Reverend, Heritage or a Hamer in person.
  3. Jorma Kaukonen, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Preston Reid
  4. When my son lived at home, his band practiced at our place. They left a bunch of stuff in my basement. It's been two years. Is it mine yet? I have a similar problem. However they leave keyboards, horns, guitars, microphones,PAs, and amplifiers. But for some reason they always seem to take my cables:confused::confused:
  5. If I had $500 to buy an amplifier, Guitar Center is the last place I'd look. Their prices are not very good. $500 will buy you a pretty nice used amplifier. Here is a list of amplifiers I bought used for >$500: Fender Deluxe Reverb Re-Issue Ampeg Gemini II These were >$400: Ampeg Reverberocket II Traynor YCV-20WR These were > $125: Fender Princeton Chorus Ampeg SS-70
  6. I never cared for him because by the time he arose on the scene, I was a mature married man. My musical tastes had developed to the point that I never got into the "cock-rock" thing of the '80s. I always thought of Van Halen as the being in that crowd. While I admired his technical ability, I never really cared enough about his music to listen to it. It does strike me as a bit pathetic that he appears to want to stay in that genus even now as he is 55. Don't hate him, don't love him, don't listen to him. EVH is "meh" to me.
  7. I love Epiphones! And you are not alone: Epiphone has and still does make some fine guitars!

Today its just getting twisted it used to be Adam and Eve in the Bible,,whats next Adam and Steve???? Did you learn this {censored} in Latham, or have you moved to the Capital District from somewhere else??? Do you really think you have the right to criticize other people for the way they live?? The lifestyle choices of other citizens don't bother me at all. What bothers me is that nitwits like you get all hot an bothered about this stuff and don't seem to mind the fact the government doesn't seem to believe that American citizens actually need any of their old fashioned constitutional rights rights: no more knocking and announcing before the police carsh through your door, no right to privacy, no whistle-blower protections, no right of habeus corpus, no need for due process, no right of property ownership so that your local government can claim emminent domain of you property for sale to a private company. If I were you I start hollering loud and long about these current twistings of our old fashion America and leave the gays alone (they aren't going to hurt you!). Wake up and smell the {censored}ing coffee and stop feeling holier than thequeer people.
  9. Guitar Center is what it is - it is something like a music "super store". The specialize in having a a huge inventory of low and mid-price inventory. The cool thing is that most of their inventory is available for you to pick up and play. They have a smattering of used gear and a few high-end instruments that they (wisely) protect - you can play them, but you have to ask. It is a good place to try out different guitars, keyboards, and percussion. I go there every now and then and I do buy things there. Various family members play guitar, drums, piano... so a GC trip can be a fun for the whole family. What GC doesn't specialize in is service. I can't imagine buying a high end instrument from them, nor can I imagine letting them service one. I am fortunate to live in an area that has many great local shops with talented and professional staffs who have built reputations on service - that is where I bought my Gibsons and tube amps. I have bought things from MF. I have experienced the "Out of Stock" syndrome, once waiting 10 months for a cymbal stand. I havent bought much from Music 123 but I did get a clearance G&L delivered to my door in 3 days. I don't find that MF and GC have great prices. I can almost always find things as cheap or cheaper somewhere else. If I do, then I buy it from the place that will give me the best service. In this regard, I think that the greatest "service" that GC provides is price competition - the local shops have to compete, and the best ones usually do.
