John Petrucci = Glasgow Kiss

Randy Rhoads= Revelation Mother Earth

Paul Gilbert = Scarified

This list is based on Professional Recording artists that have sold in excess of 1 million records.... (We are not adding the guitar video teachers and youtube crowd)

Just the original players that have been signed to a major label, sold over 1 million records as either a solo artist or an important hired gun to a platinum artist, and have a signature song that we all know !

Who are your favorites, and who would you add to the list?

Would Allan Holdsworth's sig tune be "Devil Take the Hindmost"?

I'd say "Road Games" because during the intro before the solo the singer

would come out and mute the strings down at the end by the headstock in

a theatrical way and then Allan would come out ripping at the end and the

singer would walk offstage.

I personally think that Nuno Bettencourt's signature song should be "He-man Woman Hater" (including the "Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee"-intro) or "Get the Funk Out", since those songs really showcase both his great riffing but also his tapping prowess.

Regarding Satch, I always think of "Flying in a Blue Dream" when I think of him.
