the Dean forum is still alive it just smells funny. That is an odd little ML you have there. It does look like an 80's Made in the USA baby series ml but that serial number on the headstock is not period correct. It looks like a Korean import from the Tropical era type serial with its placement and font.

As someone said, that is the Dave Murray from Iron Maiden signature model. Dave's actual guitar that this is based off of is a 1957 neck and 1963 body that was originally owned by Paul Kossoff of Free. Dave played this guitar from 1976 to 1990. He had the Dimarzio SD put in to give it a heavier sound and the pup rings were used to make them easier to mount to the pickguard. This was a pretty early tricked out HxH strat.

I think he is a pretty cool guy. He loves to play guitar and has been very polite and cool when I have met him. He can go over the top, but that is what got him noticed above the endless sea of shredders out there. He can play anything and can put heart and feeling into parts when they are presented.

I'd send it back, karma has a way of biting back. This person got his, but no sense in waiting for some to come around your way as well.
