Members Faber
Somebody stole my trusty TU-2 at last weeks gig (of all the stuff on stage, why that?!?!). Is the Boss still the one to get? I've been looking at the Polytune as well, so any comparison of those would be appreciated as well
Members dabbler
I dont have a boss, but I do have a planet waves, Korg pitch black and a polytune. I like all of mine, but the polytune is my fav. It's so nice to be able to strum all the strings and then only go to the ones that are off! Members notjonahbutnoah
My fav? The Polytune. Is there one I will tell you to avoid because it sucks? Nope. Its hard to go wrong. They'll all tune your guitar.
Members Jkater
I don't have the other ones to compare but My Polytune is great. And I'm gonna add the snark as something to have a look at. Get both!
Members Wyatt
Turbo Tuner is my choice and highest recommendation.
Members Help!I'maRock!
i bought one of those Snark tuners and haven't gone back to pedal tuners. but if you've got to have a pedal tuner, i would go either Turbo Tuner or TU-3.
Members cincy_cosmo
I had in my hands a few months ago both the Planet Waves pedal tuner and the Boos TU-3...the Boss TU-3 wins hands down. Tunes accurately, lots of features, easy to use, no noise and rugged as heck.
Members PunkKitty
I like the Sonic Research ST-200 Turbo Tuner.
Members humbuckerstrat
I don't have one but the GFS Pedal Tuner looks interesting. And for less than half the price of a Korg Pitch Black (which I have).
Members Edward
I think there are plenty of alternatives that you could put up against the Boss, but I'd find it hard to beat on price and quality.
Members scolfax
I was in the market for one several months ago and got the Hardwire pedal that acts like a Polytune. Really, really love it.
Members Phillbis
I went from the TU-2 to the Polytune. It's accurate, fast and easy to read.

Members -TJ-
I've got two pedalboards. My main one and a secondary smaller board. I've used the Pitchblack since it came out, and recently bought the polytune to go on my main board with the idea of sticking the pitchblack on the small (lesser) board. Ended up keeping the Pitchblack on the main board, it has a much better display than the polytune, even though the polytune has a nicer looking enclosure. For the money, you really cant beat the pitchblack.
Members honeyiscool
Having used a TU-2, Korg Pitch Black, and the TC PolyTune, here's how I rank them: 1. Pitch Black. Not even close, really. It's the fastest tuner of the three and easier to read. It is on my main board. Always picks up the note no matter what instrument. 2. PolyTune. Good tuner, but it's just not quite as fast as the Pitch Black, and not only that, the tuner is not as good as tuning a bass as the Pitch Black is, especially with flatwounds on a bass guitar, where it really struggles. 3. TU-2. Tuning-wise, pretty much on par with the rest, so on features, PolyTune wins. I sold it once I had the other two.
Members Philfixit
I have a Pitchblack, but only because I pawnshopped it for $30. Got a Snark coming in the mail. Be nice to tune without having to plug in.
Members Ljomar
I have both the GFS and the PitchBlack, and I would highly recommend paying the extra $ for the PitchBlack. The PB tracks way, way faster and is more accurate.

Members dabbler
2. PolyTune. Did your Polytune have a weak battery or something? mine has no problems with bass. You ARE setting it to the bass setting before plugging the bass in aren't you.
