Members lug
1934 was the year of the great cow bean experiment. Instead of other feeds, farmers tried freeding cattle beans to see if there was a benefit to bean-raised beef. Aparently there was not.
Members bholder
There's a difference between an anomaly and a tendency, you know. This doesn't change anything - the science is indeed settled.
Members lug
Funny how the use of the word "evidence" and "anomaly" can change depending on your point of view.

Members lug
The science was not settled before this, and it's still not. Science is never "settled". The main problem is the layman doesn't really get the difference between a scientific theory and a scientific proof. Back in my day, this was stressed always to students. Let me give you an example. One scientist was doing reasearch and after searching the interwebs and such came up with the theory that Lug Sucked. He contacted me, I played a Lug MP3 for him, he pronounced that the MP3 was the proof.
Members zachoff
I think the scare from "global warming" hasn't so much to do with temperatures in the USA but has to do with the ice caps melting. I read something somewhere that under the ice caps is a bunch of methane that, if released, may make the planet uninhabitable to humans.

Members jackcheez
Who's website is http://www.climateaudit.org/?p=1880#more-1880? What's odd is the GISS website has "Climate Approaches Dangerous "Tipping" Point" as it's top story today. http://www.giss.nasa.gov/ It's a fact that the climate is warming. I can't prove that's it's caused by man, and you can't prove that it's not. But while we're at it, why would scientific theory need to be edited by the government ? http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/03/17/60minutes/main1415985.shtml

This doesn't change anything - the science is indeed settled. We're not talking about anomaly or tendency. The readings are unreliable, they can't be trusted, and certainly can't be used to show a tendency. As for "in the U.S.", the U.S. is being blamed for the "massive" CO2 increase due to productivity, etc. If the effects are there, we should see them first, and most impressively.
