The science was not settled before this, and it's still not. Science is never "settled".

The main problem is the layman doesn't really get the difference between a scientific theory and a scientific proof. Back in my day, this was stressed always to students. Let me give you an example. One scientist was doing reasearch and after searching the interwebs and such came up with the theory that Lug Sucked. He contacted me, I played a Lug MP3 for him, he pronounced that the MP3 was the proof.

I think the scare from "global warming" hasn't so much to do with temperatures in the USA but has to do with the ice caps melting. I read something somewhere that under the ice caps is a bunch of methane that, if released, may make the planet uninhabitable to humans.

Who's website is http://www.climateaudit.org/?p=1880#more-1880?

What's odd is the GISS website has "Climate Approaches Dangerous "Tipping" Point" as it's top story today. :idk:

http://www.giss.nasa.gov/

It's a fact that the climate is warming. I can't prove that's it's caused by man, and you can't prove that it's not. But while we're at it, why would scientific theory need to be edited by the government ?

There's a difference between an anomaly and a tendency, you know. This doesn't change anything - the science is indeed settled.

If it is and you think you have the proof positive, why don't you present your case?

If not here you can make 100 grand by doing so at Junkscience.com.

They're looking for people like you and we need to know. ;)

Go get 'em. :thu:

The government always needs to be in on the SNAFU. ;)

They're not doing their job unless they are in some big way. Why not the climate?

You live as though global warming exists.

We're not talking about anomaly or tendency. The readings are unreliable, they can't be trusted, and certainly can't be used to show a tendency.

As for "in the U.S.", the U.S. is being blamed for the "massive" CO2 increase due to productivity, etc. If the effects are there, we should see them first, and most impressively.

I've read that China's on schedule to pass us in the not too distant future.

Lose nothing? You've just altered your lifestyle for the worse for no reason. That's a real loss.

Or altered business requirements that made your business less competative than others overseas, causing job loss/plant closings.
