  1. Depends on what kid of tone you have, what kind of strings you have, how much you sweat and how much you play. When I was playing live and practicing once a week, I would change out every 6 months or so. That was for the two main basses. Probably should have done more often. Now playing 6 string whether acoustic of electric requires changes more often for me. Not sure why.
  2. Isaac is likely correct. He has some Jazz basses in his stable, included a fretted Jazz bass ('61 shell pink), which the Fender Flea Signature Jazz Bass copies.
  3. Did I just break a threadkiller specific rule? I've posted back to back.
  4. Fascinating! Keep us posted.
  5. Everyone is welcome to come back. I won't drop the ban hammer easily. Promise!😂
  6. Out of curiosity has anyone else caught the bug of getting more gear since Covid hit? I hadn't really had time for music, but as much as I am involved with I find getting my instruments back into shape, upgrading pickups, getting into guitar more and playing has been a much needed diversion. Did I mention getting into guitar more? I've purchased 3 Tele's and a G&L Tribute ASAT Classic, a bunch of pedals, sold a bunch of pedals, bought a Marshall amp, sold my last bass amp (the EBS Microbass 3 works great). Now I just have to build a much better pedal board than what I have going on right now. Surely I can't be the only one.
  7. Amy sure knows her way around the fretboard! Very entertaining video.
  8. I’ve always wanted a blue Rick. That Fireglo looks good though.
  9. I think about how many members I miss looking at some of the people who posted in this thread.
  10. Are you trying to kill the thread or keep it going, Perfessor? 19906
  11. Looks like you have 105 posts to go.
  12. Not this particular HC forum. Lots of the long time posters found other venues and never came back.
  13. It's too bad we didn't have a forum killer thread.

Many old-timers leave, because they moved on and found something better. Have you ever seen an old town that never changes? What would you say about that town? Most places, people move in and people move out. Businesses change in the downtown, a family diner gets run out because McDonalds moves in, etc. Life goes on.

A lot of the assholes in hcbf moved to ebassist and while they aren't like they were here, they're still assholes. While I'm not saying I know why Allen stepped down, I have a good idea why I think he did. It isn't worth my time anymore to say the least. It's just some grey lukewarm place now. Who are these assholes?
  18. I prefer the nucular option. That way I know that I am right!
  19. BrockSamson is at least bassdudeguy and hearafter.
