Members onelife Posted April 21, 2016 Members Posted April 21, 2016 I heard The Beatles before I heard Little Richard. I thought of McCartney as having a soft voice and a hard voice. It's obvious where the hard voice came from. It must have been a schtick for him to be able to sing those songs in the early days.

Phil O'Keefe Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Yeah, I think Little Richard was a huge influence on McCartney. I think Little Richard's influence on Prince (RIP) has often been overlooked too... they shared a similar wild, crazy and flamboyant stage presence.

Members Mandolin Picker Posted April 23, 2016 Members Posted April 23, 2016 Caledonia is the Latin name given by the Romans to the land in today's Scotland north of their province of Britannia, beyond the frontier of their empire. The etymology of the name is probably from a P-Celtic source. Its modern usage is as a romantic or poetic name for Scotland as a whole (from Wikipedia). Doug MacLean wrote a song by the same name years ago and it has become the unofficial anthem of Scotland. YouTube video:
