Members Mandolin Picker Posted April 16, 2016 Members Posted April 16, 2016 "Mariah" - This version is by the Smother's Brothers
Members Anderton Posted April 16, 2016 Members Posted April 16, 2016 "Lady Marmalade" - what an effing great song from all angles - the song, the performance, arrangement...
Members Anderton Posted April 16, 2016 Members Posted April 16, 2016 "Along Comes Mary," the Association. I was kinda shocked when I saw that the Wrecking Crew played most of the instruments on the records. we opened for the Association in Atlantic City and they were outstanding live.
Members Anderton Posted April 16, 2016 Members Posted April 16, 2016 And if you've heard only the Monkees' version of "Mary, Mary," check out this version by the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Come to think of it, whatever happened to Paul Butterfield...loved his harp playing. BTW - the guy standing second from the left is Mike Bloomfield, his solo at 2:28 is brief but tasty. The dude on the right is Elvin Bishop.
Members Anderton Posted April 16, 2016 Members Posted April 16, 2016 And of course, the Mighty Buddy Holly doing "Peggy Sue." This is a live performance from "The Ed Sullivan Show."
