Members kpd78 Posted March 13, 2010 Members Share Posted March 13, 2010 What is more common OD -> Distortion or Distortion -> OD, I always thought OD -> Distortion but seeing the posts here... depends largely on the type of overdrive pedal... something like a Tim/Timmy which is (usually tonally transparent) often works best after a fuzz or distortion.if it's an overdrive which really colours your tone (such as the way many ODs cut a lot of bass), then it usually works best first. so a good guideline for this theory would be that whichever (dirt) pedal allows the widest range of frequencies through should go last.
