Members SonicVI Posted May 16, 2011 Members Share Posted May 16, 2011 This is an Epi Valve Jr head that I completely rebuilt into a mini Marshall head based on the 18-watt circuit. The only thing that's stock from the Valve Jr is the power transformer. The output tranny is a much larger than stock Hammond. The circuit is built on turret board with Sozo and Sprague caps and Xicon carbon film resistors. There are 4/8/16 ohm outputs and a half power switch to go from about 6 to 3 watts or so. Here's a demo of the head through a single Celestion Blue (not the best for a Marshally amp) miced with an SM57, no post eq or anything. There's some wah and MK1 added for fun, you should be able tell when they kick on. Also, I had the volume and master volume controls at maximum the whole time. Any change in gain is all from pick attack, I never touched the guitar's volume control (which was a Tele with P90ish pickups)http://homepage.mac.com/sonicvi/epijr.mp3$275 shipped or trades?
