Members woolyh
If it costs $550 in Europe I'm sure it'll come out around the $400 mark in the US.
Members ChuckNorris1982
If I'm not mistaken, the Blacktops cost less in dollars than they do in pounds, which makes them SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive to us. Based on that, I'd say Woolyh is about right.

Members acdc518
does it matter? I think the revised position is probably better to be honest it does to me after playing the cp and blacktop jm. the original trem on the jazzmaster/jaguar is fine if you take the time to learn how to set it up. Members jhamnett
That's nice IMO, but the basswood body isn't... Depends on the basswood. Def a "try before buy" guitar I'd think.
Members lolque?
Depends on the basswood. Def a "try before buy" guitar I'd think. Agreed. I've never been to keen on the majority of basswood guitars I've tried out. That's an opinion and a generalization, though.

Members THAT4301
Basswood? Really? It's a squier with the right pickups that's going to cost 2/3 of a blacktop. They have to cut the corners somewhere
Members B.S.Jansen
There's nothing wrong with Basswood. If the construction and pickups are ok then wood choice shouldn't matter too much. Besides, most Dinosaur Jr is fuzzy pop so the neutral character of Basswood should suit Dinosaur Jr's music just fine.
Members woolyh
What's up with all this basswood {censored}, Fender Japan has used it on alot of their Jazzmasters and no one complained before FYI the original Purple J. Mascis Jazzmaster had a basswood body.
