I was wondering if the Micro Amp beefs up the sound at all or is just a clean boost? I know people sometimes use a chorus pedal to fatten up single coil sounds. Any other help? Members Lanefair Posted September 18, 2012 Members Share Posted September 18, 2012 For beefing up a Tele I use a Bad Monkey for dirt (loads of bass) and an LPB works too although a bit gritty. Don't use a mosfet boost, it says it's full range but mine definitely loses some bass (or accentuates the highs). Oh wait this is a Micro Amp thread. Never used one. TC Electronic just came out with a booster pedal (the "Spark") which has several gain options. That looks interesting. If you're looking for an insane amount of gain on hand, try the Cusack More Louder booster pedal. On the bright side, but it will crack eyeglasses with glass lenses. The Xotic Ep booster will do a lot. I use two.. One in front of the amp to drive/add sparkle, and one in the loop to fatten up the sound. The xotic has two switches on the inside.
