Is it possible to edit a track ripped from a cd and take out the guitars?

Be nice if it could be done. I have some audio editing software but no clue on how to use it.

i think alesis has two units that do just that. one is about 100.00 and the other has a cd player with it and i think its around 200

Ok, I was originally going to ask for some Satch backing tracks, but I googled it and found this link.

If you're looking for any Satch songs, check this page out! The tracks are excellent.

Thank you so much for this link. I know it will help out my playing a lot =)

No problem dude. I've already tore into a few of them myself. I never thought that I'd learn as much as I have just by downloading a few of these tracks. Although I'm still not very good at "shredding", I love trying to play over these tracks.

I'd like to hear some versions of some of them from anyone. I'll try to post my versions soon.

If anyone uses Guitar Pro...

You can get your own backing tracks by using the xport to .wav feature, then convert the .wav into a small mp3... works for the whole arrangement or individual tracks!!!

Downside is, it only sounds as good as the midi capabilities of your soundcard + depends on how good the tab is (mine sounds pretty damn good!! Its only for Bassdrumsmaybe cheesy synth)

Simple, but cool, especially for obsucre songs.

It's been ages since I've checked the links - some are probably dead. I got a new hosting service recently - as soon as I have a few moments, I'll repost'em. Hopefully by this weekend.
