  1. that's probably it - i had the same problem occasionally when i was net surfing at intel, even when the material itself wasn't actually objectionable. fwiw i'm seeing all of them, at home, with firefox on win 7...
  2. yup, music is aural math - it's just more fun, expressive, and emotive than regular math . and yes, i do know mathematicians who think math is `beautiful' because it explains `why everything is the way it is'...but hey, you know mathematicians...they're just plain kooky ;)...
  3. yes! way under rated, or, at least under appreciated, imomo (in my old man's opinion ;))...
  4. i have a 1985 u.s.a. soloist in corvette yellow with the seymour duncan s/s/h setup and the kahler tremelo, about as perfect a shredder as you can find ...

yeah, but back then they just came back like the walking (stalking) (flaming) dead ... i didn't really mind, and i'm sure scott had way better stuff to do than referee our various boot pissing contests, heck, even i may have made a `brash statement' on occasion ...

i've been around since the end of the '90's, back in the scott lehman days. it was `unmoderated' in those days with all the wild and woolly (and highly entertaining) flame wars you might expect, musicians not noted for their tiny egos and all . the various platform crashes and changes (plus the onset of `serious moderation') caused some to lose interest, imo. it's my experience the site is way more useful, with way better discourse, but if you're looking for a dust up in trouble town (good ole fashioned flame war) you'll have to go to another forum... i'm o.k. with that .
  7. i'm around from the good/bad old days when lehman ran (or ignored ) the place... there's no doubt that corporate sponsorship has made it more structured and informational...but i'll always remember the balls to the wall flame war days fondly ...
  8. sorry the grammars a little wanky, but you get the drift ...
  9. i have a 1989 x100b 8x12 stack that i bought new in 1989, getting close to the end of the `carpet' years if i'm not mistaken - it's one of the best heads i have (and still do) owned http://www.carvinmuseum.com/decade/images/89-xamptubestack.html
  10. 10 pedals on board now (with some others stored in plastic bags `waiting their turn' )... just for my own entertainment and recording fun...when it's time to go somewhere and jam i just throw a boss me-80 on the floor, plug in a couple cords and go - who cares if that gets stolen, and anyone who's concerned about their `tone' in a room full of drunk/stoned people obviously hasn't hasn't drank/smoked enough ... just one man's opinion, nothing to get excited about...
  11. i'm in the same boat - been looking at one of these - http://www.bestguitareffects.com/walrus-audio-phoenix-review-best-guitar-pedal-power-supply/ - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V0VV8UY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8PM7M6G3DZAAYN2XAZR7&linkCode=sl1&tag=theguitblac-20&linkId=d359c58a760dbe8c28c23a00ea50c76a - i'm open to suggestions ...
  12. all my old fashioned tube amps are paid for...so i like them a lot ...
  13. [h=2]OT - "Pet" sounds[/h] i've found that if i squeeze my cat right in the middle of a `meow' she sounds almost as good as bagpipes ...
  14. looks like she's embracing her inner vai/satriani- nice chops.... -
  15. damn! that is a good wife - is she available? j/k - my new motto is `i hope i never forget to never get married again' - congrats on the guitar and the wife ...
  16. still aiming too high, i'd go with a nice berber...or, if you're into shoegaze or jam band, a nice vintage shag if you can find it ...
  17. these days i just pick whichever weighs the least, i have enough effects and amps to make a piece of carpet sound like a les paul...and, if the piece of carpet isn't to large, i can still carry it around to jams...
  18. i am a satisfied and repeat customer of earth quaker devices ...
  19. `muskrat love' gets a bad rap - i think if it was re-visioned as christian speed metal doom rap with some cookie monster vocals the actual love story itself, between two consenting rodents, could really shine, and probably be an anthem at furry conventions for years to come...
  20. thanks for the input. this is probably more than i need, but looks like it will do what i want it too - which is do up to 16 tracks simultaneously and record them straight to my hard drive where i can work them in the presonus daw software.
  21. anyone with experience or inputs on the PreSonus StudioLive 16.4.2AI 16-Channel Digital Mixer? i've been using a yamaha aw16 g for many years, but would like to up my simultaneous live inputs from 8 to 16. i'm open to any suggestions - thanks.
  22. i'm in total agreement...i love a pristine clear punchy clean - if you have that you can go anywhere from there, but if you don't have it to start with there's no effect that will get you there. and i say that as a fender lover, no champ, but have a princeton, deluxe, twin, and quad reverb - best clean sound ever. even though i'm basically a strat/superstrat kinda guy i gotta say a tele through a deluxe or twin is the kind of sublime you just can't get anywhere else ...
