I made the announcement that I felt he was speaking very well for me. Although, if you read further, I do clarify I don't believe in everything he said verbatim, I felt the general idea was powerful and something I agreed with. I don't care if people disagree, I am not quite sure why you think I do. I explained that I feel that a lot of what he is saying rings true, and attempted to understand other view points in the thread, etc etc.I wasn't baiting you specifically, just looking to see if the conversation on this was truly over, or if others who may want to didn't see this yet, etc.I am just unsure what about me you're attacking here...?Btw, where I am, people wear the liberal label as a badge of honor, though I know that's not true everywhere. I think the main problem he has is that you don't agree with him. I think Olberman's speech was great but there were some things that he was sensationalizing. However, in general, I agreed with what he said.

Members Slim Jim
Since when did 9/11 become Republicans vs. Democrats? Did the firefighters go in there asking who was a liberal and who was a conservative? This is not about what party is right and what party is wrong. It's about how OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS have led us, the American people astray. It's about how we have to chew through all the inane bull{censored} to get to a grain of truth. And how they think we're too stupid to handle the truth. It's about how they are using people's tragedies as a form of propoganda and commercialism. It's about how after all of this, we continue to lose civil rights. How if we try to take a stand for what we believe in, we're un-American. Isn't it sad how history repeats itself, when I could've sworn nearly fifty years ago, the exact same thing was going on, but you were labeled a communist? Or sixty years ago, a Nazi? Even under the pretense of being avenged for 9/11, I still feel it's not being done right. Why is Osama still alive? Why is Saddam the only one who got caught here, when he didn't have much to do with 9/11 in the first place? Because of our elected officials, we look like assholes. We chose them to represent us and lead us, but all they are doing is misrepresenting us and misleading us.

You won't impress me or convince me of anything different. Musicians = Liberals. There are a FEW rare exceptions. Biggest moron in the thread award? teh winnar is yuo@!!!11!!1!! I use reason and critical thinking to form my political and social attitudes. I am also a musician. Oddly enough, I actually control my emotions when assessing political and social issues, unlike some retard Conservatives who fly off the handle screaming "GOD TOLD ME YOU SUCK!" and "YER A TERRORIST!" and "WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!" at the drop of a hat. When you have no rational reason for your beliefs but a "gut feeling", or "God says so" even in the face of overwhelming evidence, you have a problem. I'm a Liberal because the evidence overewhelmingly supports the ideology of moderate Liberalism. Science, political theory, and common {censored}ing sense all really point to us all living together, supporting each other in sane and moderate ways, with an emphasis on personal freedom, personal responsibility, and equality. I'm not a Conservative because of my kneejerk reactions to losing my White Male entitlement, or my jingoistic need for petty revenge, or my need to have the government substitute for my lack of penis, or my need to be part of a homogenous society that believes exactly what I do because I am too weak and too stupid to deal with change or diversity, or the even stupider idea that being a slave to an elitist ruling class somehow elevates me above my sorry ass life. Whatever. I have yet to hear a "liberal" actor or musician say {censored} HALF as stupid as what comes out of the mouth of Conservative pundits. (note: this applies to a specific type of Conservative. Many Conservatives are smart and have excellent, rational well thought out reasons for their beliefs, providing the checks and balances of perspective neccessary to move forward with a rational balance of ideologies.)
