  1. This is what you guys sound like. UBM6CBtuHS4
  2. Holy n00b fight Batman. May I be the first to say STFU, GTFO, a2m/Gape. murder/suicide, TAONZ IS IN TAH FINDERZ and welcome to HCAF.
  3. What do you mean? Think of them as 70's Fenders. Rose Morris, fresh off of almost ruining Marshall, bought Vox with no manufacturing facilities. While a case can be made for the late 80's/early 90's AC30TB LTDs, most of the Rose Morris Vox amps are suspect. It's no wonder they went out of business AGAIN, forcing the sale to Korg. With the number of n00bs out there selling any piece of crap that looks old as "vintage", far better to spend the money on either a new one or a JMI. Most components critical to the AC30 were no longer made in the late 80's, and remember, Rose Morris was never a music company, they were out to MAKE MONEY, much like the CBS takeover of Fender. Unless you are getting the thing free, walk away. No one services them any more, and the esoteric replacement parts are largely no longer manufactured.
  4. Rose Morris Voxs are an expensive way to burn down your house.

You are comfortable with not knowing what is going on in your own government? Don't wrap everyone in with your own ignorance. That {censored} is a cop out. "The truth is out there", the problem is that so few people are actually thought to think, and to be media savvy that you have people vomiting forth rhetoric like "you don't actually know what's going on, so you have no basis for your opinion". Black Ops. Dude, did you just out your wife on TEH INTARWEBS??? {censored}ing moron. Or, far more likely, a big {censored}ing liar.

Good times.

Originally posted by Megadeth7684 Yup, just like I did with a VHT a few days ago. I had no intentions of buying it, but I saw the SPAM thread, the price was fair, and I jumped on it. Would have never noticed it if it were in that sticky SPAM thread. Yeah, I'm in on loving this too. I have no idea some of the stuff thats out there until someone spams it, and then I get the GAS. Then I buy it! I love that. Its part of why I come here, to horsetrade. Its good for the HCAF economy, good for America's economy! Why do you hate America, Phil? Seriously, the girlie thing, I totally understand, but if it aint broke...

  10. Yeah, gotta say that coming up on Hendrix, Gilmour, Santana and Page gave "us old guys" a certain perspective that these kids who listen to nothing but shred and death metal just don't have. His technique is great, especially for a 15 year old, but go meet some girls, go have some life experience, go figure out what the {censored} you are trying to say with music other than "look at me I can play faster than you!". There are young people who do have the emotional capacity for great playing - look at Derek Trucks. But far more often you just get social retards who stay home playing scales and arps all day and don't have anything to say with it. I'm not knocking this kid - this is one vid of him playing a specific tune designed for the chops - who knows, maybe he loves Hendrix and plays a mean Purple Haze, and he has years ahead of him to develop, and he is well on his way, very impressive - but the division between the shredder camp and the old guy hater camp is a valid musical discussion. All these shredder kids look bored as {censored} to me - that Oscar Peterson vid kid was much better, IMHO, had a bit o life to him. I'll tell ya, I have never gotten a gig or a session because of my shredding ability or lack thereof. Most people I know haven't. So while its neat this kid can do this, its sad that that's his focus. I would take being a great musician over being a great guitarist any day.
  11. Originally posted by cloudnine Werd. I'll try this again... PETER, CALLING MORE DIEZEL AMPS TO CANADA PLEASE! Yes. Back to work, you. I need a damn amp! Gather more worker elves and send me a Herbert! ...but point taken that one mans sizzle is another man's buzz, one mans "organic" is anothers "flubby". Eric Johnson has great tone but I wouldn't want to play speed metal with it. Its all subjective.

  13. Dammit. Now I want a Deizel. You {censored}ers are killing me. All that money I used to spend doing coke off of hookers asses now goes to crazy people with solder on their breath. I hate you SO MUCH.
  14. I am madly in love with my baritone Esquire and Twin Custom 15. The new LTD bass is pretty cool too. I have bought piles of stuff this year, and to be honest, I am digging it all.

  16. Originally posted by SKYNETRP Touch dynamics are very important to a blues player where the emotions they get from their playing touches your soul when done right. Now of course that doesn't really matter if you are playing heavy metal, but for a blues guitarist it makes all the difference in the world. It all depends on the genre you play. A lot of very good amps these days don't have that sensitive touch dynamic as do the PTP amps (where when your pick attack is harder the volume incresese but keeping that awesome tone, and when you pick lightly, the volume decreases, but the tone is still full and rich. This is how they get emotions out of their guitars. See: THD Some of the most touch sensitive amps out there, IMHO. PCB, I believe.
  17. Originally posted by Jeff Seal I gotta disagree with you there, I rarely replace the caps you're referring to unless they're passing DC. I get 50's Fender's that leave the shop with most of the coupling, tone stack caps still original.... Anyone else have thoughts, maybe I'm wrong here.. Jeff Seal I have heard from people that know quite a bit more than I that as long as the caps are used regularly, they can maintain their effectiveness for indefinite amounts of time. But if the amp sits for too long, they dry out and become faulty. So an amp from the 50's that has been used regularly could feasibly have working caps, whereas a newer amp could sit for ten years and have to have all the caps replaced. I don't know for sure, I know caps in a lot of old amps are replaced as a precaution - my Major sat in a warehouse for 8 or so years and needed new caps, but my old Bandmaster was regularly used and still had its original caps. Perhaps one of our resident amp gurus can clear this up. blargh - yeah, I agree with you there, for the money a little time can be spent cleaning that shit up. SKYNETRP - that is a gorgeous amp, inside and out.
  18. For the record, Bruno amps SOUND amazing. I dunno what the fuck goes on inside em, but what comes out of em is fucking bitchin. I personally don't care if those ARE chicken guts inside slain with the Vorpal Blade of Kthulu, roasted in the Blood of Bloody Eternity and sauced with the Big Doomy Burrito of The New Lamb, anyone want to give me THEIR Bruno, I'll take it. But I have considered getting a tattoo of those Hiwatt innards.
  19. +1 on the Mark IIIs, they are a lot more versatile than they would seem. That said, I have heard some killer tones from the Mark IVs, so if a particular bargain crossed your path, I woudn't turn it down.
  20. I think DT should get the guy from Nevermore, so Nevermore can get a death metal guy and make the leap to full on death metal. Although he does a great job on the new record. I'd love to hear him in Dream Theater, tho. Improve both bands, IMHO.
