Members Digital Jams
strats = epic fail. lp = epic win. sg = unfathomable win. Your opinion of technical designs of guitars due to your vanity buying methods......null and VOID
Members Marshallesque
IIRC the OP has a collection of many other vintage gems as well And while you could use a good strat for everything, I agree that there are many other cool types of guitars besides strats: That Jackson Soloist really seems like the odd man out in that particular collection
Members jaytee123
Meh...single coils are for guys not manly enough for humbuckers. :poke: Manly guitar players MAKE single coils sound great!:poke:
Members BadRonald
I guess there is no place in music for ES-335's and Teles, Jag/Jazzmasters, Les Pauls, Gretschs, Ricks, Danelectros, or even modern super strats a la Anderson. Now that's just silly, isnt' it? Members worldoftone
Are any or all PRE-CBS? A few are pre-CBS, most are CBS, a couple are post CBS. - WOT
Members chad_sux
I'd rather have a First act over any guitar. Why are we arguing about which guitar is better? They are both great guitars. That said...I might never buy a LP or Strat. I just can't get comfortable with them. That doesn't mean that they suck...they just suck for me
Members worldoftone
I like the one on the far right on the couch the best, dark cherry looking body, sweet! 1975 Mocha Strat. Completely untouched. Looks very "Gibsonesque" finish-wise. I had a 1975 EDS-1275 for a few years, and the finish was similar. - WOT
Members Digital Jams
Why are we arguing about which guitar is better? Cause the LP dorks wont concede that their design is far worse
Members John Busbee
The funny thing is, these retards really dont need Strats anyways, they use too much gain to be able tell any tonal difference between them. we can't help it...I do use the coil tap...quite often.... Members '63-Strat
That Jackson Soloist really seems like the odd man out in that particular collection I pretty much agree with you, actually. It doesn't get played a lot at the moment. And the SG is my brother's.
Members Jarick
I don't. Les Pauls are muddy. But Strats are plinky. I like SG's and Tele's. They are ballsy. Way better adjective.

Members newholland
LPs are muddy? never heard that... i've heard dog pauls before that WERE.. but it's like any guitars.. there's crap and there's good, i s'pose.. not much use in arguin'... some like the light hammers, some like the heavy ones... all that matters is that you get the nails drove... Members chakosh
I've never played a Strat that I liked. I've tried several different ones, but that's all granted that I've never tried a vintage one. I love my Les Paul, and have no idea why someone would say they sound "muddy". Now, some of the strat copies, like Tom Anderson, PRS, etc, I've enjoyed. I own an Anderson that's a pretty sweet guitar.
